Review: Great for us - Installed this as a pre-amp on the wall in a pub to give control of mic and music for things like quiz night to the host, its been flawless and is a great little bit of kit, we have no need of the equalizier or any of that, but having independent volume for the mic and line is all we wanted, it really has boosted the audio quality overall and works for what we needed perfectly, cheap and a very quick easy fix.
Review: Top Notch Little Mixer - I bought this mixer to record cassette tapes and records on to my PC so my review is essentially to do with just that. The mixer's power supply comes via USB from the PC or you can use the USB adapter also supplied to use power from the mains socket. Well before I go on any further, this mixer works brilliantly. I connected my record turntable [Bush MTT1...it has a built in pre-amp... very necessary] to the phono inputs on the mixer marked "2-TRACK" and then connected the "MAIN MIX" phono outs to the line-in on the PC. I use Magix Audio Cleaning Lab software on the PC. The recordings are top quality.Recordings via the "LINE" input are also excellent... you can use the EQ if needed to good effect plus the Pan facility. I prefer the "2-TRACK" input as it bypasses the EQ. I have not used the Mic In with a phantom powered mic but can confirm that it is excellent with a dynamic mic... I use the Shure PG57.The XLR input also doubles as a 1/4" jack input too! The recordings are clean and clear and their is a very good low and high EQ with panning on this input. You have total control of volumes from all inputs which is basically what a mixer is all about. You can route your mix via head phones or the main mix. This unit is very well made and has a solid feel to it especially the XLR and phono inputs. The mixer has many uses and I can totally recommend it... it also takes up hardly any space on your already crowded desktop! As a footnote there is no way that I am parting company with my cassette or vinyl collection... it's simply fun to be able to copy them if needed for whatever purpose.

**Q: Does this mixer provide Phantom power, or Will I have to have a separate adapter for that?**
A: About three quarters of modern condenser mics will run off 15 volts - with somewhat reduced headroom, perhaps, but unless you're close miking drums or amplified instruments, when are you runnung ito microphone distortion? Since the AKG C451 - the first 'universal' phantom mic, the polarising voltage on the diaphragm has been restabilised, (the preamp stepped down to 12 volts), and it's ultra simple with electret condensers, whosepolarisation is permanent.

**Q: how many inputs/outputs does it have?**
A: As you didn't see the big stonking answer to your question in the product name, there are 5 input options:- The USB-connected device, eg your PC- An XLR input labeled 'MIC IN' (I've not used this one yet so can't really provide info)- A phono input, 'LINE', with it's own 2-band EQ, balance and volume dial.- Another phono input, '2-TRACK' with it's own output control. - A 3.5mm jack for microphones with it's own 2-band EQ, balance, volume dial and gain dail. I think the XLR input uses these dials too, so you'll have the same control options. You also have two outputs. A phono connection labeled 'MAIN MIX' and a 3.5mm jack for headphones. Each have their own volume dial. Some inputs can not be used simultaneously. For example, the USB and 'LINE' input share the same control panel, so you have to choose which one to control by pressing a button. The deselected will not be played to the outputs. It really is a cracking little mixer for using at home or for small events. I use it with my guitar a lot. I've got a backing track coming in via USB, my guitar signal through the 'LINE' input, and I listen through headphones plugged into the headphone socket. Well worth it's low cost.

**Q: Will this work for a mxl 770 condenser microphone?**
A: Not sure I know a standard mic works so unless the mxl770 is a usb mic then it should work

**Q: What size is the microphone input**
A: It has an xlr input, which also will take a standard audio jack, as well as a separate 3.5mm audio jack for headset/desktop mics.
