Superb
I love this, but heres' why: It comes well packaged and once opened is very well made and solid. The code-a-pillar essentially is made of many segments with each one dictating an action. They all interlink via chunky usb connectors essentially. This is really good and encourages the concept of coding/programming and logic skills. I like you can buy replacements and extra segments easily and it really is a joy to play with with my son. It coped fine on carpet and hard surfaces, though hard surfaces are best. The only minor downside is the volume is not adjustable and some may find it too intrusive. My son has had rough moments with the toy too and its coped really well, its very solidly made.

Great toy for toddlers and adults alike!
Bought this for granddaughter (she is 3 yrs old) and it looks very solidly built and easy to change the sequential parts around. We have only just been able to deliver it and give it to her over the fence due to lockdown. She loves it! She did get a little frustrated as she expected it to 'follow' her but I'm sure she'll get the hang of it quite quickly. You can also buy an extension pack which gives you extra options and longer sequences. We'll let her get the hang of what is currently available before purchasing the additional pieces. We were worried that the batteries wouldn't last long but they at least survived our visit. We are considering buying rechargeable batteries for it though to keep the little one happy.

Good but loud
Really good toy! Excellent for teaching a 4 year old sequences, basic coding principles and to some extent communication! The noise however... good lord it’s annoying! And so bleeding loud! I haven’t found a volume control yet and I’m tempted to open it up and disable the sound. Still... the kid likes it.

A great learning tool — and endless fun!
The four year old loves it – and so does her little brother! While I'd like for it to have a volume control (it really is very loud), the sounds it makes are fun and engaging for the kids. They love watching this little guy wiggle his way across the room, and the four year old is already starting to understand the cause and effect of which codes she inputs, and which obstacles are in the way.

Love it.
I got this for my seven year old son for Christmas, he loves it and plays with it all the time. It’s brilliant just for a quick toy to play with, but also to use his brain to make the toy go through little obsticals he builds! It doesn’t work on carpets - not ours at least and can be quite loud on the laminate flooring but all in all it’s fully worth the money and I am very happy with the purchase.

Excellent play value and value for money.
My three year-old Grandson loves this. It is a great idea and great value for money. One drawback is that the first time I bought this item, my Grandson broke it by pushing it around the floor instead of engaging the drive. He has learned not to do this ... it is, however, aimed at his age group and it should be possible to design around this issue.

it's fun and it is a present for a small person ...
Yes, it's fun and it is a present for a small person who at 4-6 is learning to read. It does not help that the instructions are in French, German and Italian rather than English. Neither did it feel like a present as it required the child to sit and watch as an adult got the toy out of the packaging, let alone freeing the code-a-pillar from it's moorings - totally beyond the skill of that age group. Was worth the effort .

Cool toy!
This is a pretty neat toy, we haven’t been able to play with it lots yet, but the pieces are fairly easy to take apart and put back together. It’s quite simple. I love that you can buy more pieces to add in. The biggest thing is you need a decent size area to play with it, as as soon as the atena touch something the caterpillar stops moving and you need to reposition and hit the start button again. I would definitely recommend for the inquisitive kid, not a super annoying electrical toy.
