However the alarm is loud and can be heard from inside the house. Problems: Doesn't fit on the bike that I have, that's ok I've put it elsewhere. Only the warning beep happend because it was so quick. It is loud but easily breakable. I lost my bike because I trusted this lock. Chain up your bikes. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very loud alarm. Only medium strength lock. The slot necessary for the disk does offer the means by which a pry bar may be put in to force it open. You would just have to rely on the god-awful din it makes to scare off the thief and give you warning.. Hopefully it would not get that far. A bike with a damaged disc is not really worth the stealing. As an auxiliary locking mechanism, I think it is pretty good. The alarm is the big selling point.At this time I cannot comment on how waterproof it is, or on the likely battery life... although coming with spare batteries suggests their life may be short if the device is set and armed for hours each day. My use is only sporadic.I hope this helps.UPDATE: Regarding battery life, I have to say it does not seem to be too bad. I recently tested it out by leaving it set for a whole week continuously.
