Hycote Bodyshop High Build Aerosol Car Spray Paint, Grey Primer, 400 ml

Used this to respray a roof box. Needed a few cans but the finish is good.

I bought this product for priming/undercoating Warhammer 40k miniatures and am absolutely delighted with it. I've only ever used Games Workshop spray paint in the past so I was pretty nervous about using a far cheaper alternative. But having now undercoated a selection of characters, infantry and vehicles I can happily say that the Hycote spray produces better results, with a smoother finish and surface for painting on. It goes easily on to metal and plastic and is also suitable for undercoating resin without damaging the models - something I was quite concerned about before using the paint! I've undercoated models like the Ynarri Visarch - incredibly detailed plastic - with a perfect finish. One thing to look out for - the paint comes out of the can faster than GW spray and more consistently so you may need to be more controlled when spraying to avoid accidentally obscuring detail.

Great product and easy to spray. Used as primer on slot car plastic bodies, two-three light coats give a perfect finish ready for topcoat. Very strong smell so spray in well ventilated area. One downside, although packed extremely well the cap was shattered on unpacking.

I used this on parts for a motorcycle that I am trying to tidy up. This appears to do the job of priming and filling small imperfections in the metal surfaces, but anything more than a scratch would need additional filler paste to smooth it out. Good for minor restorations and resprays.

This plastic primer is probably the best I have used. Good coverage, even with just 1 coat. I deal for covering any plastic items ready for painting. I recommend this to anyone trying to paint plastic items.

My husband uses this as a primer for his model railway work. He says it the best he’s ever used in all the years he’s been building

Ich habe mir den Hycote Grey Plastic Primer gekauft, um Kunststoffteile vor dem Lackieren vorzubereiten, und bin mit dem Ergebnis sehr zufrieden. Die 400ml-Dose reicht für mehrere Teile und bietet eine gute Grundlage, damit der anschließende Lack richtig haftet. Das Auftragen ist unkompliziert: die Spraydose verteilt den Primer gleichmäßig, ohne große Spritzer oder Nasen, wenn man in dünnen Schichten arbeitet. Die Trocknungszeit ist angenehm kurz, sodass man nach kurzer Zeit schon die nächste Schicht auftragen oder mit dem Decklack weitermachen kann. Der Primer haftet sehr gut auf Kunststoff. Ich habe ihn z. B. bei Fahrzeugteilen eingesetzt, und der Lack hält deutlich besser als ohne Grundierung. Auch kleine Unebenheiten werden leicht ausgeglichen, was für ein glatteres Endergebnis sorgt. Die graue Farbe ist neutral und deckt gut, sodass man auch bei helleren oder dunkleren Decklacken eine gleichmäßige Basis hat. Für mich eine klare Verbesserung gegenüber Billigprimern, die oft ungleichmäßig sprühen oder schlecht haften. Die Lieferung über Amazon war schnell und sicher verpackt. Insgesamt ein sehr guter Kunststoff-Primer, der sich leicht verarbeiten lässt und ein sauberes, haltbares Ergebnis liefert. Würde ich jederzeit wieder kaufen.

ho preparato il fondo (maniglione posteriore in plastica del freelander2) levigando con grana 800, il primer è risultato coprente alla prima passata, ma ne ho voluto fare una seconda leggerissima e non ho nemmeno carteggiato e mi è sorto il dubbio di verniciare per quanto era soddisfacente l'aspetto estetico. Considerata l'uniformità del prodotto, credo garantisca anche un'ottima resistenza. Ho poi verniciato con alluminio opaco e, a quel punto, era perfetto ià alla prima passata. Seconda e trasparente (1K) date solo per ottenere l'aspetto estetico atteso

La peinture d'apprêt adhère bien au plastique, par contre je pense qu'il faudra trois couches pour obtenir un bon recouvrement. Ce qui signifie qu'il faudra poncer entre les couches.

Ottimo primer per plastica. Crea una base uniforme per lo strato di vernice successiva. Asciuga molto velocemente. Consigliato
