My dog can stand in his seat and be at the window without falling or being too far out, so to speak. I admit, the visual makes it look small but since I bought the black one, I do not know anything about the gray seat. **Q: Does this car seat have the ability to secure 2 small yorkies? If so, would I need to provide any hardware? Thanks.** A: So 2 small Yorkies could fit in the car seat as my 25 pound Boykin Spaniel fits in it with plenty of room. The car seat comes with one tether strap to clip to their collar but you could easily purchase another tether strap and use for the second Yorkie. **Q: does this come with a seat belt for the dog?** A: It’s been a bit since I have used it. He was so little he just curled up in it. The seat itself had belts that secured it. As far as the dog itself, I don’t think so. As u can see, she's too big for it. The pad inside is "eh"....i ended up adding some extra foam to make it thicker. I tried to cram this bed in the back of our extended cab pickup but it was too wide so I ended up taking out the bolsters. All the padding is easily removable.
