SONGMICS Office Chair, Gaming Chair with Armrests, Adjustable Height

I'm writing this review after purchasing this chair almost 2 years ago (bought in November 2024). This is by far the best office chair I've ever bought and I highly recommend it, especially if you are a gamer like myself and spend a lot of time in front of the computer. The chair is very comfortable, well built, so far (2 years later) I don't have any wear on the coverings on the armrests and seat/back itself. There's no issues with the materials fading in the sun and nothing has pealed off like I've had happen on some chairs when the PLU chair covering falls apart. The main thing that makes this chair stand out from all the others i have bought over the years is the fact the arms, that in most office chair designs provides the main structure, holding the bottom and the back of the chair together, is made from metal. Most arm supports on these types of chairs are plastic (quite often made to look like metal, but they're not), and for me, being on the heavy side it's quite often the 1st thing to go when things eventually break. This provides a lot of support and rigidity to the chair, it never feels flimsy. I have spent hundreds of hours sitting in this thing and it's still as good as the day I bought it, well worth the money, awesome job Songmics!

Good quality chair, took around 30-40 mins to assemble with good instructions, however put the seat on back to front, not sure if i misread the instruction or if they could of been a bit clearer, easily sorted though, good range of adjustment on chair, solid and very comfortable, good size and slides under the desk, Great chair for the price, looks fabulous in cream.

My 30 y/o office chair died, and I couldnt afford £600 to replace it; however being REALLY big, most cheap chairs just arent up to it. I was really hesitant about buying this, no chance to try it out, and a few mixed reviews; however my impressions of the build quality and sturdiness are very positive. First off; the packaging is excellent; and either they have re-done the instruction book, or we have some real tools posting reviews, because it was childs play. If I want to nit-pick, the washers arent clearly marked on the diagram; but everything else is clearer than the average Ikea manual. Assembly. All the itty bits were on a shrink wrapped card and clearly labelled and quantified, complete with a VERY good quality Allen key. First castor was a little tight, as was the last, but all went in correctly, and the ram slid securely into place. Fixing the mech to the seat bottom was childs play (this is where the washers go), the arrow designating the front of the seat is clearly shown in the diagram. Plonk the seat and mech onto the ram and unwrap the arms. They only fit one way around, so fairly simple; lining the holes and screws up was a little tricky, mainly because the screws are black and the leather is black; call out here for the fact that all the screws have a blue compound on to help them stay tight. Screws loosely tightened, on to the back !! This is a little trickier, but by leaving the arm rests loose, you can create enough of a gap to see the alignment; the top set of holes stick out and fit into a recess in the armrest - for strength; getting the first one lined up was a little tricky (black on black again), but once it was in, the last screw was easy. 2023 Update. Sadly, over the past 12 months, the back has been making an increasing number of cracking noises, and it is gradually tipping to the right. Bearing in mind, my weight fluctuates between 135 and 155KG, this chair HAS done pretty well, and I am sure for lighter users, it will last much longer. Tighten all the screws down, go back and cinch them a little bit more and decide to leave the covers off to check they dont need tightening again after a weeks use. From opening the box to sitting in the chair - 20 minutes of leisurely assembly time. Impressions of the chair? Pretty good, so the finish isnt as good as my old chair, but they sell DISCOUNT for £600+, but the cost cutting is cosmetic, and out of sight, staples instead of stitching underneath the base of the seat, and the underside of the chrome base is not perfectly glassy smooth; but that is it. Obviously, only time will tell if it lasts; but I will update this review if it all falls apart!!!

Lovely chair for the money. Arrived quickly and efficiently. Easy to assemble, comfortable and quality seems good. Nice to see metal where plastic is commonly used such as for the arms. If we get 5 or more years out of it I’ll be very pleased.

2nd time ordering this office chair, this year.. and this time it was a purchase for myself.. Amazing Chair.. Found the instructions clear and easy to follow.. If you're a tall human, this is the chair for you, as the height range is great. My legs feel stretched, and I am in the right sitting position at all times.. Very firm, great product and quality for the price; will definitely recommend for anyone working from home and at the desk often.

I bought this chair in May 2018, so this is a 2-year assessment. At first sight, the chair looks very sturdy and comfortable, and it is actually pretty comfortable, the problem is that this won't last... So keep this in mind when you buy it. I have experienced the following issues with this chair: 1) Even if the arm supports are made of metal the screws and the internal supports where they are attached inside the chair are weaker and will be broken making the chair unusable (see picture). So even if the chair is advertised as supporting up to 150 kg. this won't happen (I am a 100 kg-guy). 2) The stuffing inside the chair that at the beginning works excellently, will collapse with time so that you will be forced to use an external cushion or suffer pain. 3) The chair covering will start coming off where the legs touch the chair (see the picture) and this will be aesthetically bad and all your floor will be covered constantly by tiny black pieces of chair cover that collapse from the chair. Conclusion: It is apparently a very good product and will be like that for some 18-24 months before you will have to throw it away.

Instructions to put it together weren't great but, nonetheless, we managed to put it together eventually. However, we would've been better off just building it from common sense and eyesight rather than checking the instructions... Errors during construction, caused by the confusion of the terrible instructions, did lead to minor damage on the "leather" material and I have to say that this was disappointing given that its on both sides of the chair back and highly visible. Besides that, the chair is quite comfortable; a firm-ish seat and recline ability makes this a good choice for an "all-day" office seat. I would recommend this chair again but only if I was there to help build it a second time so I could explain what not to do.

This is now the second of these SONGMICS chairs I've bought. My first one lasted me for many years, and when it eventually broke I was genuinely disappointed because it had been both one of the sturdiest and most comfortable office chairs I'd owned. I spend a lot of time at my desk and I'm also a gamer, so my chairs get a lot of use. When I owned my first one I was considerably heavier than I am now, actually slightly over the stated weight capacity, and it still handled me remarkably well. I also tend to sit with the chair tilted back most of the time, so it certainly wasn't given an easy life. It eventually developed a lean and failed, but considering the use and weight I'd put through it over the years, I put that down to me rather than the chair. One of the things I particularly like about this design is the metal loop armrests. They feel substantial and add a lot of structural rigidity compared with chairs I've owned with plastic arms. I've just bought my second one and assembled it today. As you'll see mentioned in some other reviews, the holes for the armrests can be a little awkward to line up. It absolutely can be done though, you just need some patience. A tip for assembly: put two screws into opposite corners of the armrest first and only screw them in halfway. Then fit the other two, again loosely. Once all four have caught the threads, gradually tighten them a little at a time, working between opposite corners. Don't fully tighten one screw before fitting the others. Doing it this way made lining everything up much easier. All in all, it's a fantastic chair. It's comfortable for long periods, feels reassuringly sturdy and my previous one took years of heavy use. I liked the first one enough that, when it finally gave up, I went straight out and bought the same chair again. Absolutely recommended for gaming, working at a desk, or anyone who spends a lot of time sitting.

Parto elogiando la qualità dei materiale veramente ottima e sopratutto la qualità costruttiva delle cuciture, all'apparenza molto resistenti e ben fatte senza una minima sbavatura. Inoltre anche la qualità delle parti cromate è top, come lo sono anche le rotelle molto fluide e scorrevoli. Il sistema di alzata e inclinazione è molto robusto e si sente quando lo utilizzate. La comodità è un plus eccezionale, di senti come avvolgere dalla sedia e anche dopo tante ore seduto non ho avvertito nessun tipo di dolore alla schiena. La sedia arriva, ovviamente, completamente smontata e ben imballata, il montaggio è molto semplice e poi c'è il manuale con le raffigurazioni, impossibile sbagliare. Dalle foto potete confrontare le varie misure della poltrona per capire se è quella che fa al caso vostro, considerate che sono alto più di 1,80 m e la reputo una seduta comodissima. Concludendo il rapporto qualità prezzo a mio parere è buono.

Sedia solida ma di bassa statura per altezza oltre 170m. Arriva l'appoggio su collo. Movimento basculante sostiene gran peso fino 150kg e delle rotelle scivolano dolcemente su pavimento senza minimo resistenza.
