Amazing Phone, Amazing Software, Mediocre Camera
I love this phone. It looks good, it feels good. BlackBerry 10 is a fantastic Gesture based Operating System that is let down only by App Support from BlackBerry World and Amazon Appstore. If you are into fiddling about with the phone it IS able to run Google Play Store which solves this problem. BlackBerry Keyboard is amazing, and so far i have made no typing mistakes as it feels just like a BlackBerry physical keyboard from Years gone by. I was hesitant at first to buy this phone but now I am really glad I did. The phone is Blazing fast with a camera that could be a little bit better, but what do you expect from a Mid to Low range handset. BlackBerry Blend is another great feature that comes with BlackBerry 10. It allows you to use ALL of your device features from a PC, Mac, iPad or Android Tablet. These features include sending and receiving Text messages and BBM's to looking through the device file manager. Visit blackberry.com/blend to find out more. Overall this is a Fantastic phone that does not get enough credit

Got delivery quickly. So far I have spent about 25 hours attempting to connect the leap to my computer or to my old Blackberry smart phone. There appears to be no defect in the leap. 3 hours yesterday morning calling blackberry in America has not enabled access to BBID have tried at least 50 times to establish a password each time informs me that password is accepted then refuses to accept connection to my computer. I have not yet thrown the leap on fire or in nearest river but is coming close. I am sure from the little glimpses I get into the bits and pieces that it could be good but even Blackberry seem unable to help so far!

Not designed to set the world on fire
4G business centric communication device for 2014. This phone is not for gamers, or app hawks, its for, people who prioritise messaging, email and making phone calls. Excellent call quality, decent signal good camera's front and back smooth OS, all day battery use, nice bright sharp clear screen easy to see in direct sunlight, and of course Blackberry's hub management which in a nutshell consolidates email, social clients, messaging etc and allows you to prioritise whats important or not. Hardware is out of date few examples, no NFC, no quick charging, no USB type C, no dual SIM, no finger print scanner and no force touch which would be pretty amazing and useful on a BlackBerry running BB 10. At the end of the day it's a low end / midrange smart phone that plods along like a BlackBerry. If your new to Blackberry and just want a simple easy to use and live with phone invest a short amount of time learning how to use the swipe gestures, setting up the hub and you'll have a simple well organised user experience. It's a ok phone
So the phone is not bad , had it for couple of days so i can't say much overall the display is nice and responsive , the phone is not slow, the OS is interesting i'm still getting used to it. One thing i don't like is that you have to pay for Messenger PRO if you want to send Photos to other people... i mean what the... also if you want to view certain notifications from BB hub like Instagram notifications you also need to pay for Instagram PRO, and not to mention that the IG app horrible for BB OS, and FB app does not do anything it just redirects you to a website. Overall this is a good phone for less than 100£, but the key word here is PHONE, camera is bad and app availability is very limited, but emails and texts are very easy to use also calls sound very nice. So yeah at the price of 80£ this is a good bargain. (UPDATE) a week in - This is a very ANTISOCIAL Operating System. Note - do not buy BB if its not Fully Android , unless you intend to just read e-mails and make phone calls......

great smart phone, great price,
I'm really pleased with this phone. I've used iPhone 4s for three years and got bored with it. I looked at the iPhone six and just saw more of the same old iPhone. Boring! The Leap has the best battery which actually lasts all day with heavy use. I'm really pleased as my iPhone used to die several times a day. The siri type Assistant seems to be more intelligent. The price was excellent too with it being £199 compared with about £500-£600 for an iPhone 6. I was very weary about buying a BlackBerry as the guy in the Vodafone shop tried to put my off but I'm glad I stuck with my instinct.

Soon be obsolete
Think twicw before buying this phone. Official support is due to end on 01-01-2020. At the time of writing, Onedrive has stopped working on both my Blackberries. The app appears to log into Onedrive but is unable to retrieve any directories. THe issue appears to be deprected APIs. I've done all the remedial actions advised by Microsoft including re-installing the app, but it would seem the app may be unsupported now.

Even better than the Z10!
Recently upgraded from BlackBerry Z10 to this BlackBerry Leap. I stayed with BlackBerry because the operating system BB10 is terrific, as is the speed of the Browser. My Leap loads iPlayer faster than my TV. A friend also commented on how great the pictures looked from the 8Meg camera when I sent them to him. The best features are the clear screen colours in bright sunlight (a problem for the Z10) and also the suggestive text words that pop up over each letter that can be flicked up into the text box...Just like I'm doing know. Love it and would recommend it to all. The Hub saves so much time too!

Update!: A lot of android apps do work. There are alternative app stores you can download and use. The only one I trust (since you will have to download a technically un-trusted apk image) is the site apkpure. I used another one and it was sketch. This site keeps everything up to date, it will update your apps, and its easy to use. I feel like its better than the play store, but thats just me. I was able to install: Google Maps (yeah I know lol) Mapquest, Amazon Music, Facebook Lite, and Messenger Lite. Instagram will install but will hang on the login screen- go figure. You can still go onto the instagram website to use it. The browser is so fast and optimized on this device- its a breeze using it. No lag at all in the browser. It seems like it wasn't actually unlocked, but it was a former ATT phone. I have ATT, so it was ok, otherwise I would have probably needed to jump through hoops to get it to work or return the phone. Pros: Outside of that, its actually pretty solid. The OS is stable. The call quality is insane, my fiance and I noticed how good our calls sound now. The speaker is loud, and the ear piece is also loud. I've read reviews about the screen being low quality, yet it I felt it is very high. A lot of the reviews talk very poorly of the 8 megapixel camera, these are not true. I have another phone with an 8 MP sensor, and this phone beats the image quality hands down. It has a good lens on it. Videos actually come out very nice. You can access the SIM and SD cards very easily. The browser is fast, loads all sites faster than my tablets using chrome. Audio is nice. Phone ships with earbuds headphones w/ mic attached to them. Navigation actually works, and when it does it works well (look below at cons for more comments). Its a secure device. There's a reason the secret service prefers the use of this company's phones. 80 Bucks gives you a lot. You get more than your money's worth. Cons: The apps are pretty much non-existent. You can install Android apps, and it comes with two app stores. There are applications that can replace the interface to a lot of website (ie facebook, instagram, etc). Yet they either come off not that good, or the Android apps can't install well because of Google's intertwined application layers, or both app stores just dont have them. If you can use you site on a browser (facebook, instagram) then its probably much better than downloading anything to use. The size of the phone is large. Its beefy, its thick, and its a bit heavy. Yet you can tell that it is built very well, the back has a rubber grip. They sell cases, but this phone makes me feel like a case is almost not needed. It is sturdy. You cannot remove the battery, its sealed in the phone unfortunately =( The interface is different, and the OS is different. Its takes getting used to, but I was able to zip through it in an hour. The navigation works very well. There seems to be something on the end of BlackBerry (RIM) where the servers don't connect fast or there is latency. Sometimes it take a bit for it to figure out a route. But when it does figure out a route, most of the time, it is fast. Faster than google maps, and faster than apples. I feel the navigation is better than apples. Sometimes you have to go to the settings and turn off the traffic routing assistance option. There are more options for the maps application than most, so its a bit more complicated. The reviews for this device are all over the place. Some reviews claiming the camera is good, other ones claiming its poor. etc etc. It almost feels like a lot of the reviews are just biased against Blackberry for some reason. I rather enjoy my apps not crashing, and my calls sounding clean/pristine. I personally don't care for all the app glimmer of Android, if the OS can't even make a good call, or change volume when its supposed to. This is a solid phone. The quality is up there to Apple's standard, maybe even more. There is disdain for BlackBerry, but these products are workhorses. The OS is good. Must buy if you are looking for a low cost phone that will exceed your expectations.
