Kenwood CO606.SI - 3-in-1, Can Opener, Knife Sharpener, Bottle Opener, 40 W, Silver

In December i purchased a named automatic battery operated can opener from a supermarket, and it cost more than this can opener. After a couple of uses it wouldn't turn off when it had opened the can and in less than a month it would not even open a can, so out of frustration, i threw it in the bin as i did not still have the receipt to return it. I looked on Amazon and as soon as i saw this can opener i knew it was the one for me as i had one of these a very long time ago. It matches everything in my kitchen as all of my counter top accessories/appliances are either chrome and black or stainless steel and black, but for me this can opener is more about it's functionality than looks, it is very easy to use especially if you have limited use of your hands, many can openers cut the entire top off of cans leaving the top edge raw metal which makes it difficult to put a can cover on if needed, which i do often a i live alone and don't always use the entire contents, also it is dangerous to wash out the can for recycling when there is a raw edge as well, but this opener does not cut the entire top off the can leaving a raw edge it cuts the lid from inside the can rim, leaving it safe to put a cover on, and wash for the recycle bin as well. Once it has grip of your can it can be left to open it without touching it, and the can lid stays attached to the magnet when you are ready to remove the can for use, removing the lid is safe to do also. It is also a bottle opener, and at the back has two slots for sharpening different sizes of knives. It looks good on my counter top, and is there at hand whenever i need it. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Excellent east to use can opener, especially easy for odd shaped cans

I have gone through 2 or 3 can openers since I arrived to Edinburgh, or they no longer attach, or they are not well built, or I turn the mechanism and it does not open the can... I was in doubt on why should I spend 20 pounds or so for this at the time and I decided to do it mainly because I was tired of not being able to open my tuna cans and because it had a knife sharpener. I don't use the bottle opener function whatsoever but it's nice it is there. All together for a good piece of equipment for each 3 I could easily get to 15 or so pounds so I am sure this is a bargain. I recommend anyone getting this and how easier makes your life.

I purchased this for my mother who has arthritis and finds it hard to open cans with a hand can opener. It is very well built and looks very nice in the kitchen! You just pop the can in place, and hold the black handle down and it turns the can for you until it's open. You can then use the magnet to pull out the cut out in case it fell inside. My only downside is that it is hard to find where to align the can with the blade and my mother struggles finding this too. What I do is just make sure the blade is in the correct position, then hold the button down and it tends to lock the can into place whilst it spins it around. It has no problem opening the hard-to-open corned beef cans too! Cheaper electric can openers really couldn't do this, so I am confident that if this can opener can open these type of cans, they can open any can! This runs on the mains only. Whilst this is a upside and a downside, it saves you from having to change batteries every now and then. Definitely a must have in the kitchen so you don't need to struggle with opening cans anymore.

I had a white version of this opener about 10 - 15 years ago & it was a reliable work-horse. This chrome version is no different. As far as I'm concerned, Kenwood have proved their worth in the realm of can openers. the CO606 is easy to use (once you get the hang of where to position the can when pushing down on the lever). The magnet to remove the lid is brilliant & saves all the poking about in the can to get the lid out, which you have to do with some openers. The knife sharpener is a great bonus to give your non-serrated blades an initial grind before finishing off the perfect edge with a steel. And... To cap it all, this goes in perfectly with my chrome bread bin & toaster. All-in-all, I can't fault this product, it sits there looking pretty, just waiting to give you some service.

We bought this Kenwood CanOpener back in 2012 off of Amazon, It worked absolutely brilliantly and as you can see from the photo it’s taking quite a bit of battering. The only thing that recently just gone is the sharpening stone in the back which you can just about see from one of the photos. It’s quite robust, I can take quite a bit of abuse that’s why I give it a total of five stars. Unfortunately the price has gone through the roof since we bought ours we brought it for just over quarter of the price, about £35. I wouldn’t pay £129 for it now even a half that price I think about it. But if you did decide to buy it should last you a long time.

I wish I had bought one sooner! I have struggled for years with traditional manual can openers,opening fray bentos cans was a nightmare,but this machine makes life so much easier.No more aching hands or wrist. I suggest reading the instructions before using it and try and understand how it works. I have seen a negative review when using it to open a Fray Bentos can so I opened one. This may sound obvious,but here are my tips: make sure the opener is on a flat surface,hold the can in position with your left hand supporting the base of the can, press the lever with your right hand to open. I didnt have any problems with the fray bentos can and opening anything smaller is simple. Opening bottles is not a problem,but I was still tempted to hold the unit down,even though it seems quite heavy.The knife sharpener probably works quite well on a quality knife,but the knife I tried was not one of the best. I'll stick to diamond sharpenening tools for now! I would highly recommend the kenwood,great value for money and an excellent kitchen tool

The product arrived in a timely manner and reasonably packed. The item is a mains operated item that has I feel a small safety issue. This is that the item once switched on is activated by the lever on the front which actually is the cutter. This has activated on several occasions during the tin location process, which again is not brilliant, and does not always grip the tin. The magnet and locator do not support heavier tins and steadying is required especially due to blade activation and rim location. Small tins seem to be supported ok. There is also an issue with non-round tins which are a failure when the longer side is jammed by the unit body. There is another issue that the manufacturer needs to improve in that loose paper labels jam the the drive gear on many occasions which necessitates the removal of the partially open tin to remove the jam. I now remove the paper before opening where ever possible. Once the standard tin is located it works well if support is provided. The magnet holds the steel lids well but obviously not suited for alloy cans. The knife sharpener is reasonable but like most multitools not the best. The opener is stylish and does a reasonable job but there are concerns and limitations. Would I recommend- No.

Der elektr. Dosenöffner von KENWOOD ist nicht nur schön im Design, er tut auch was er soll, nämlich Dosen aller Art öffnen. Ich jedenfalls hatte damit keine Probleme. Der hinten angesetzte Messerschleifer hat einen etwas zu groben Schleifstein und die Führung für das Messer müsste präziser gestaltet werden. Die geschliffenen Messer waren nach dem schärf Vorgang jedenfalls scharf, habe sie danach mit einen Wetzstahl nachbehandelt. Alles im allen, kann man dieses Gerät nur empfehlen!

Il prodotto è arrivato nei tempi previsti. l'imballaggio era accurato e non presentava danni. Amazon number one. Il prodotto è stato acquistato per sostituire un vecchio modello di altra marca che ha fatto il suo lavoro per anni. Si presenta robusto con peso adeguato ed è molto gradevole alla vista. Molto facile da usare e permette di aprire scatole di varia misura, dalle più piccole alle più grandi. È dotato di affila coltelli e apri bottiglie, anche se il primo risulta un pochino lento ma comunque funzionante. Davvero un bel prodotto, molto soddisfatto lo consiglio a tutti.

Very disappointed. This is a Euro can opener. Can not plug it in. Different plug. I got shafted.
