Nowhere on the box or in the manual does it mention that this can be used in the shower, with a wet face or with any creams etc... The model I received was ER-GN30-K (don't know where the 503 went). The cutting blade is very sharp and while you may find it will take you longer than my husband to trim nose hairs, I would think that this trimmer will cope. As for the closeness of the trim, that is up to you. The longer you take and the closer you press to the skin, the closer the trim will be.To summarise: if you are starting with really long busy hairs, you will struggle a bit and take a long time. Once you are only dealing with regrowth, you should have no problems at all.
