(I'm thinking of traditional desks)** A: The only problem with using on a table leg is that the laptop can be put on the floor and the table leg lifted out of the loop. On one desk on which a lock is used I drilled two holes in the desk top side supports and passed the cable trough these, the cable can not then be slid down the leg. If you own the Air, then look at the sides at the back - is there a small rectangular slot about 6mm by 3mm - perhaps with a marking looking like a small padlock - if so then its likely to be a security slot. If you don't own one yet, then ask the shop/supplier if a Kensington lock can be fitted. The lock can be a bit fiddly first time you use it - you have to get the lock aligned properly for it to slot in but once you have realised this, super easy to use. Seems sturdy but hard to know for sure.
