First off, note that I came from chemistry working as an engineering semiconductors but that said, this is one of the most stunning desk-top science pieces of art I've ever seen. And I mean this company did an excellent job of construction, readability, and just plain making it fun. Even the LED lighting enhances the experience. There is not one single thing I'd change on it! Got this as a gift for my neice. She is an 8th grade science teacher. She loves it and so do her students. She thinks its cool that you can charge it so that it lights up. Im old, i hate that part. Im so sick of USBs and charging everything but its not mine so that doesnt matter. Ive been looking at these for 5yrs. This is the BEST one. Very clear, lights up, has a stand, comes with cleaning cloth and you can clearly see each element inside! Perfect size too

Beautiful, Its sleeps very easy to it's stand, and the light working well and even able to be charged. My 8 year old loves it. We bought the small one, in my opinion it's a good size for a night table.

I know everyone said it was small, but it is tiny. The elements are nearly impossible to read. That being said, it’s pretty awesome to own and it makes me feel fancy.

This is beautiful work of art, as well as a testament to science. It has two brightness levels for the light, and it is rechargable so you needn't keep it plugged in. They include a lot of thoughtful extras, and the level of care and craftmanship that went into this is above and beyond! The price is amazing too!

It is very nice quality and even includes a small magnifying glass and a cleaning cloth. It must have a rechargeable battery hidden inside- I don't recall that being mentioned in the description. I could see in the description images that it came with a USB cable so I presumed it had to be connected to power for it to light up. That would have been nice since I intended to connect it to a 5 volt source and then to an Alexa plug so I could schedule it to go on and off at a certain time every day. Can't do that now! Well, you can only turn on/off with the touch sensitive button on the front of the stand and that operates with or without it being plugged in. So much for my timer operation. (There is a small indicator light on the back that I presume is to indicate battery charging level.) Also, the on/off button can also dim or brighten the lights if you hold your finger on the button. When the display is on the stand the bottom row of elements is partially hidden by the stand- you can't see the element names.

My daughter is in the academic professional area and loves chemistry. She excelled in it while in college. I sent her this for Mother's Day and, of course, being my daughter, she opened it upon delivery! She LOVES it! It came wrapped and well protected so no damage. Comes with a wooden stand that has a button on it with an electric cord that lights it up. Even without the cords\light it is very visible to see. It is definitely unique with showing of all the elements. A fantastic gift for students, teachers and anyone interested in chemistry. I've gotten several calls from her in the last 2 days just expressing her joy in this gift. Highly recommend!

This is PERFECT. A great gift for your scientist - cute on a desk top.

My boy was very excited when he got it. He thank us like three times in a row. The item is small and the writing very tinny, but he has perfect vision and was able to see it held it in very close. I think that the holder base is a great addition and it keeps it steady. I have a happy boy today and that is exactly what I wanted to see when I thought on buying this present. It also have cardstock periodic table that is easier to read.
