Solid knife sharpener and very easy to use. Just be sure to look up your knives to verify the degree angle. Quality build as well. It doesn’t feel like the cheap copies out there. It’s the real deal.

I never knew how easy is it to use the HORL knife sharpener, not only that it looks so sleek and modern. I've managed to have the sharpest knifes of anyone. Althoug it is a bit expensive, the amount of satisfaction on how good it works makes it worth it. Before it took me a lot of time to get my knifes sharpen but now I can do it with the same results but it takes me less than half of the time

I love my Horl 2 sharpener and I am impressed with the sharpening capabilities of this premium kit. I noticed my blue stone recently cracked for seemingly no reason. I have only sharpened about 6 knives, and the kit is only 9 months old. I reached out to customer service to ask if there is any warranty and after sending these photos at their request, this was their reply: "The stone is almost a year old and appears to be well-used, even with water. We don't recommend using the stones with water as it can cause them to become porous and fracture quickly. Since corundum stones wear down over time, this is normal, and unfortunately, we cannot offer a warranty for this." The stone has barely been used, its just dirty. Nowhere in the description is there any warning about getting stones wet. I never soaked the stone, but I did rinse briefly under water. (although I never told them that) Stating that the stones CAN be used without water is not the same as saying DO NOT use with water. I am trying to push customer service one more time with a photo showing micrometer measurement of stone thickness, proving its barely been used. Given the price point, I expected these stones to be more durable than that. And I also thought a company with Horl's reputation for pride in engineering and quality would stand behind their product and be specific in usage warnings if water poses a risk. Update: after a good amount of back and forth, they honored they 1 year manufacture's warranty and are replacing my blue "fine" stone for free. Two things of caution. DO NOT use any water on these stones. not even a damp towel for cleaning. And 2, they do not typically believe the manufacturer warranty applies if you are buying from Amazon. They feel instead that the 30 amazon policy applies. So i would recommend buying direct from their website since shipping is free anyway (in the US).

I purchased this set (it’s expensive) because I recently also bought the Horl 2 sharpener. I already have a Horl original (Horl 1) and have used it for years. But the Horl 1 - at least the one I have - came with the magnetic blade holder that has only 20-degree sharpening angles on it. Because I recently purchased some Japanese Damascus knives with a hard core, the recommended sharpening angle if the knife edge core is hard steel, is 15 degrees. The Horl 2 knife holding block has both 15 and 20 degree holders on the magnetic blade holder. I also bought this accessory sharpening set since it can produce razor-like sharp blades when used properly. I believe these accessory sharpening stones can be used on the Horl 1, but I have not tried it (the sharpening/honing faces on the Horl 1 unscrew much as those on the Horl 2. You do have to be careful with the resulting sharpened blade - you will need less force to cut or chop things. If you have others who use your knives in the kitchen, let them know that they are sharper than usual (before you used the Horl with the fine sharpening stones) since things like feeling the edge with your finger can result in a nasty cut or being careless when washing or drying the knives after such sharpening can result in injury to yourself or your sponges. I accidentally cut a sponge in half when washing a recently-sharpened knife; fortunately, I was washing as I usually do with the edge pointed away from my hand and fingers. Had I not done that, I would have had to make a visit to the ER for some stitches. If you want or need really sharp edges on your knives, this accessory set with the Horl 2 sharpener will deliver them.

The good: They flat work. With these, I was able to obtain a filigree polish on my blade edges that, while not as good as a whetstone, is still light years better than automatic sharpeners or hand sharpeners. The not good: The price is positively ludicrous. You can buy an entire block of 3000 and 6000 stone for 20 bucks. They're taking advantage of a proprietary system to jack up the cost. The stones aren't ceramic, which means they won't last as long and are more delicate. It doesn't come with a cleaning stone, so these will clog up with metal shavings and lose their effectiveness over time. For $140, they should have included a cleaning stone. All in all...."I guess", but I wouldn't really recommend.

Wenn man einen Horl Messerschleifer hat, sind die feinen Schleifscheiben ein echtes Update auf die finale Schärfe. Die Schärfe hält länger und die ist einfach besser. Sehr zu empfehlen, wenn man an scharfen Messern Spass hat.
