Only use if not mercury poisoned
R-ALA is an excellent product UNLESS.... you are one of the many who have mercury poisoning (such as from dental amalgam, see book Experts Catastrophe on Amazon for the full info about it).If you have mercury poisoning, or have dental amalgams, then ALA is extremely harmful because it "liberates" the mercury and carries it all around the body and into your brain. Long before I knew anything about dental mercury poisoning, I took one capsule of ALA. I certainly didn't take a second one.

taste good and in a handy capsule.
the major reason why i really like this product is that if you do not wet them you can easily seperate the capsule into two- one larger and one smaller section and half the powder then empties easy, i empty the contents into my mouth.the powder tastes unusual but nice and i like not having to eat the capsule.i cling film over the other part of the tablet with half the mixture left for the next morning.i do not take the full 240mg a day as i take the lipoic acid in conjunction with vit e, kuneka coq10,grapeseed oil plus many other supplements and healthy diet which i take to clean me up and aid me in having a child..i have had no adverse effects from this product and i also feel good knowing this product helps remove the mercury build up from my body from my four-recently had two taken out now i have 2- mercury fillings :-(this is the superior form of lipoic acid , i would give this 5 stars but i give 4 because i feel they could be a lickle bit cheaper..worth buying though especially if you dont mind splitting them and lowering your dose per day..

Edited review:I was happy with this ALA and it seemed to be helping with my eye problems. But when I ordered my second bottle, the expiry date was only 3 months, Which means it's almost at the end of it's shelf life. I returned it. Wish the date had been checked before dispatch.There is another niggle with the way it's described on the website. Some of the images show 300mg and others 240mg.Confusing!

I am using this product for health reasons. As such, it is important that the product is exactly as stated and advertised.

Had to pay customs and fees to the post office on collection.
I think the product is good but i had to pay the post office just over £11.00 in fees and VAT before i could collect. Shipped from the USA Will be looking for another supplier.

Quality brand and product but, sadly, didn’t agree with me
First off, the science on this looks really good, so I can understand people benefitting. Moreover, I am a big advocate of the Life Extension brand in general in terms of quality.That said, these tablets really didn’t agree with me. I had pain in my body every time I tried one so I discontinued. Maybe the strength is just too much - I’ll consider a 100mg dose next time.Additionally, it should be noted that lipoic acid is a heavy metal chelator. If you have a problem with heavy metals in the body, I recall advice that it’s probably best to take very small doses over the day rather than one large one.
