There is also a hole on the side so you can put a screw through to secure a handle. **Q: Should the brush have come with a handle, mine didnt** A: Wot! It provided good application and didn't appear to shed bristles (none that I noticed anysay). You can definitely tell it's a cheap brush, but it does do the job fine. For exteriors I'd buy one of these again, definitely, but I think for indoors I'd spend a bit more to be assured of quality.
