Fantastic camera
Bought this for my wife for her Christmas. She is delighted with it, and all its features including its social media features as well. The camera has a very impressive optical zoom of 40x magnification. It has loads of neat little features, including one that take a couple of seconds video before every shot you take and then at the end of the day puts them all together as a sort of clever summery of your day.Picture quality is really very good, however it is not great in low light, and favours brighter rooms. i think because of the zoom and the amount of lenses the light has to penetrate this is only to be expected from a little compact. And you just put the flash on and it makes a lovely job.

Canon PowerShot SX720 HS experience
I bought this camera because of its pocket size and powerful zoom of 40X. the operation was very easy and good . I was very impressed with the landscape and close up quality. The zoom was very tricky to focus on. But once it had focused and the picture taken ;the picture was sharpe andcolours were very correct. I enjoyed using it but had to return it because I did not want to use it with tripod to get the zoomed photos. There are other Canon which provide similar zoom for my need without the need of tripod. Sometimes zoom is focused on the nearest object and does not by pass it to the object further away(a bird on the tree). For this very reason I had to retuned the camera. My overall rating is : it is a very good camera, with lots of features. All the photos are good and colours are natural and exact.

A Welcome compact addition to my Canon Bridge Camera
This Compact Canon is very easy to use. I always adjust my own settings on Programme and never use Automatic and those are very easy to make. This is done by pressing the Function Set Button when the camera is switched on. The settings are then displayed and you can then scroll down and each setting in turn can be adjusted. Others have told me that when Automatic is used the quality of the photos taken is very good. Only can view display from screen at the back of camera and cannot use the viewfinderThe photos have good resolution and the zoom control allows a magnification of X40 under normal conditions of focusing and even greater magnification using extra care. It fits into a small carrying case for safety and is ready to use quickly. I have found it to be very useful..

Nice camera but now out of date.
Camera has only been on the market a couple of years but not compatable with MacOS High Sierra and when I queried when they would update they told me they have no plans to do this. Not much committment to customer service there. If you want all the features you will need to buy a more up to date model. Doesn't reflect well on Cannon.

Love this camera
Love this camera. Previously had a Sony DSC-HX60 which did continuous shoot, but it was very slow and once it was building the shoots you couldn't take any more, with this one hold the button done for a few seconds you get lots of pictures, release the button and it saves the photos in seconds and you can take pictures again straight away. We thought it was the SD card which was making the Sony slow, but we used the same card in this camera and there wasn't a problemThe menus are really easy to navigate and I was able to connect it to my phone/ipad and upload the photos/videos really easily. It is as small as a compact camera but the photos are bright and colourful, and it focused very fast even in low light. I was impressed I was able to photograph fireworks and my son and husband on a jetski whizzing by at 40 mph from the shoreline and still have in focus shoots.

Poor image quality in low-light conditions
The image quality is poor in low-light conditions. When I say the images are poor, I don't mean that they are completely terrible, I mean that they are not acceptable for a camera in this price range. The images also have an unnatural yellow tint in low-light conditions. The image viewing display on the rear is grainy when zooming in. There is a USB slot but no USB cable is supplied. The battery is small with low capacity. The pop-up flash is rather clunky and has to be elevated with a small switch on the side and pushed down manually. A booklet is supplied (in 22 languages) but it only describes how to insert the memory and battery and switch it on - everyone who buys a camera in this price range will be able to do that without instructions - the booklet doesn't describe the modes and settings, although this can be found online. I thought for ages before ordering this camera and decided to order it when I read the good reviews here, but I was disappointed. I quickly returned the camera to Amazon.

Great macro, fabulous superzoom, superb image quality - but very heavy
I bought this and a similar Panasonic (DMC-TZ80) for use at work. I actually intended to send one back but we couldn't decide which one was best of the two and ended up having one camera each rather than sharing one. He kept this one and I kept the Panasonic. The close-focus macro on this is incredible (practically zero focal length) and the 30x optical superzoom is simply staggering but I went with the Panasonic because the pictures are as good and the weight is significantly less. This is a HEAVY camera. It's very well made and there is a lot of lens to extend inside so it can justify the weight but I needed light more than zoom so I went with the Panasonic DMC-TZ80. This also comes with an external charger (you can also charge the battery in the camera) whereas the Panasonic just charges the battery in the camera, so you need to buy an extra charger if you want to charge the battery and take pictures at the same time.
