Very pretty
I do really love this curtain. It looks so pretty at my back door, especially when the afternoon sun catches it and the silver thread running through it sparkles. The strands do seem very flimsy and they seem to make tubes of themselves, leaving biggish gaps between, but they don't tangle (first day up has been a very windy day). As for its purpose, well it's early days. I wanted something that would stop those horrible buzzy flies coming in, they make a beeline for my cat's dish and it's just disgusting! So I only put this curtain up today, and just one big buzzy fly came in. Normally they seem to follow one after the other like a relay race, or maybe it's the same one that keeps coming back lol. Anyway, an early impression is that although the curtain won't totally solve the problem, it makes a big difference despite the tubing/gaps. To be honest though, even if it didn't stop one single fly I would still keep it and use it on an internal doorway as it is so pretty. I may get another one and do just that!Update: I bought a second one to double-up on the back door, and now it is twice as sparkly and not a single fly has come in since putting it up three days ago.

We have 4 external doors ...
... on our house and a french door, and we like them open in the summer. We live right out in the country surrounded by fields where organic crops are grown; flies are a 'hidden' cost to producing organic foodstuffs for the supermarket! I hate them comming into the house as I know exactly what their feet have been walking on!! I get through a lot of fly spray but am worried about them dancing their death-throws on the kitchen worktops unseen. I decided that screen doors could be the answer but one for each door would be a big outlay, so I bought one 'to see' first.I thought this would be 🤞 good for the cost. It would not make the house seem dark and could be seen through so we could still enjoy looking out at the garden. It has a deepish hem at the top to slide onto a sprung curtain pole or elasticy wire. It would be easy to put up and take down each day so we can close the doors at night. It ticks these boxes and that's what the 2 stars are for. However ... the strands are very thin and quite widely spaced so is not very effective. It would stop butterflys/moths comming in but I don't think it would keep out a detemined bluebottle, house fly or wasp. To work for these and smaller insects you would need to have two up at the door as the width is only just wide enough to stretch singly across the opening. But this would of course double the cost of curtaining the doors, and by then your are upto the outlay of a higher quality one or the magnetic type. So I'm going back to searching Amazon for something better. This one is not a complete waste of money as we usually keep one of the french doors in the bedroom open on hot summer's nights and gathered up it should be wide and dense enough to keep out nocturnal winged visitors.Oh, and it came Very quickly before date even on free delivery.Update: I have put this up at the small french door in the bedroom. To cover the one we leave open the curtain is gathered up to about 22" wide. The strands seem to be more effective this close together. However, I did not cut the extra length off the bottom and even with this extra weight the strands did blow open in the breeze. They are better than nothing here and do look pretty, but for where I want good results such as the kitchen door I will keep looking for something more effective. As the fly population in the bedroom has diminished I think if you decide to go for these and put 2 up at the door you should be fairly satisfied with their performance.

Alternative to blinds
I couldn’t afford to put blinds in my conservatory so I used these. There are not very wide but I bought a few and they did the trick. Contrary to other reviews mine have never tangled into knots and I believe they have reduced the insect entry by at least 90%. So a fantastic alternative for blinds for me anyway. And I have had them since 2018!
