Review: Works great! Everything included - This product works as described. It was easy to fit, although working in the loft is never fun. Everything I needed was included in the kit, making this job breeze. I read the instructions carefully and soon realised that my roof was slightly different to what was described in the instructions. I had to modify the felt arrangement a little, but still used all of the items provided. The parts appear robust and well-made, these are high-quality parts. The instructions are clear but need to be read a couple of times before starting. You will, of course, need to make a base to sit/stand on when fitting. This is not a job to do standing on the joists. I would recommend this product to anybody that needs to install an extractor vent in a loft space, avoiding the need for outside access. The entire job took me about an hour to install.
Review: Easy fit piece of Kit. - Received on time. The actual principle appears sound. Easy and quick to fit. For that alone I rated it 4 stars. It is basically a piece of shaped plastic, a couple of small bits of wood, a couple of screws, a plastic strap, a hose clip and a vent hose. You pay for the convenience, not for the cost of the materials! I am sure the price will come down. For me, I paid for the convenience of not scrambling on a wet roof in the winter, rather a warm dry loft. I hope the unit proves it's worth and advertised glowing description!

**Q: can you fit 6ins fan to 4ins duckting**
A: Yes,you can buy a 6inch to 4 inch reducing collar.

**Q: Will this be suitable for use under a slate roof?**
A: Thank you for your interest in lapVent. To answer your question, yes, it is suitable for use under a natural slate roof, providing the roof is traditionally built with membrane/felt (for the lapVent to fit into) which needs to be in good condition throughout. You need to make sure that the gap between the rafters is no less than 315mm wide or there will not be enough room for the lapVent to fit.

**Q: How does this not rot the battens that the tiles sit on?**
A: Hi thank you for your interest in lapVents. The filtered lapVent system consists of a sloped, multifaceted reservoir area which unlike all similar products controls ingress as well as extraction.
During the seasons, the undersides of all common free-laid roofing materials will remain damp to some extent or other throughout their lives. The lapVent system does not add to this but in fact ‘improves’ aeration.  Uninterrupted airflow through interconnected batten cavities has preserved vulnerable roofing materials for centuries.
Any moisture extraction/exhaust/ingress condenses on the cooler side of lapVents unique mesh faced aperture and settles on collective surfaces that direct any flow harmlessly down the weather-side of the underfelt, and so to atmosphere.

I am delighted with this product. I live in a listed building that could have necessitated scaffolding if a roof tile vent had to be fitted. We, as complete novices, were able to fit it in the loft, following the online demonstration, without difficulty. The electrician fitted the extractor fan and connected it easily. It seems to be working effectively.
