A: Choose the nearest size to the cable and to go over your joint so that too much heat isn’t used and just enough is used to shrink the the tubing without damage..hope this helps…

I actually bought this kit for electronics, but it ended up saving my prescription glasses instead. The rubber coating on the inside of both arms had started peeling away, making them uncomfortable to wear and looking a bit scruffy. After watching a few tutorials online, I realised heat shrink tubing could be used as a replacement, and this kit turned out to be perfect. I found a size that fit my frames nicely, slid the tubing into roughly the same position on both sides, used a hair dryer to shrink it down, and the finished result honestly looked far better than I expected. I only wish I'd discovered this trick sooner. The assortment itself is excellent. There are plenty of sizes and colours to choose from, all neatly organised in a sturdy case, so finding the right piece only takes a few seconds. The tubing shrinks evenly, grips well and gives a surprisingly clean, professional-looking finish. Even with nothing more than a household hair dryer, it worked exactly as I'd hoped without scorching or splitting. What I like most is that this kit has already paid for itself with a repair that would otherwise have meant replacing a perfectly good pair of glasses.
