Ronseal RSLMPWFN100G 100g Multi-Purpose Natural Wood Filler Tube

I bought this to repair a bunch of damaged screw holes. Turns out this stuff is stronger than wood when it dries. I've since bought a few more of this (once you open it it dries and becomes unusable again). I've fixed damaged walls, doors, wooden furniture such as wardrobes. Love this stuff. Edit: Worth noting that it's really not worth stocking up on this as it only lasts a while before the ingredients separate. I keep stocking up on a few of these for unexpected repair jobs (and to try to reduce shipping costs) only to find water just tickles out of the tube leaving behind a solidified lump in the tube when I need it most. However every time I've ordered a new one from amazon, it's worked well and completey saved me.

Great product with the caveat that it is a bit 'thick' for the tube size. I had to resort to squeezing the tube in a woodworking vice to get any out. To be fair it is a cold workshop, and I don't have Tarzan's grip strength, but even with a vice it is reluctant to leave the tube.

It comes out of the small tube easily and dries nice and hard so it is easy to sand back and finish. Also, I was able to mix it with some a neutral tube to get a closer match for my wood colour - English Oak.

agree with both reviewers to date. tried the pva and sawdust [from the piece i was sanding] and it filled fine, but still does not look like the timber surrounding the filling. nor does the ronseal wood filler. both require an overcoat of something else to make them blend into the surrounding timber. the ronseal also works fine as a filler and makes a great grain filler when working on anteque walking sticks that still need another coat or 3 of opaque coloured linseed oil / white spirits and earth pigment that needs applying before finishing off with schallac. don't make the restoration to new or it loses value, so for me, depending on what i am doing, both get 5 stars. i like the ronseal better in the tube than in a tin as it stays moist, with no wastage.

I have used wood filler before, it was nothing like this wood filler. I opened the tube and squeezed it a lot of brownish liquid squirted out over my floor, I then cleaned this mess up and squeezed the tube again. Nothing cam out, it was stuck in the tube, I had to cut the bottom of the tube off, and scrape the filler out. It had a grain feeling to it, I used it on the area to be filled it did set. I would not buy this product again, I think it was out of date as the moisture had been removed form the filler causing it to be thick and clumpy. I think this is out of date.

I tried to buy the more expensive plastic tub version, similar to what I've used before but here Amazon let me down when the app refused to accept my delivery address... Anyway having bought this tube , as an alternative, for just over £3 I was disappointed to find at opening it squirted a very liquid product all over me. When you purchase the tub you can mix the product before use but the squeeze tube is not suitable for this. I decided to put some of the wood filler, lumps and liquid, onto a scrap piece of wood and used it as a sort of mixing pallet and mixed with a filler knife. This technique worked well but I believe buying the squeezy tube is very wasteful and I'd advise to buy the tub. The wood filler is actually very good,when mixed correctly, and I'd happily buy again (but not in the crazy squeezy tube). It dries fairly quickly and could be sanded the same day it's applied but I prefer to leave it overnight. The natural colour I chose works well on wood but it is available in white as well.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this product which after treating with wood hardener, I used to infill some areas on window frames which had rotted. It is very malleable and easy to press into gaps and cracks for a tough, smooth finish. After an hour or so [ the more filler the longer you must leave it to harden ] I sanded and painted the treated area and hey presto..... looks brand new. Why was it all my fault...... well in my haste to order I did not notice that there was a dark filler option which would have better suited this particular job and saved a bit of painting. This is a good product for the amateur DIY enthusiast at a keen price .

Does exactly what I wanted it for. Applied this woodfilla directly from the tube to the treatment area on an outdoor garden gate (top tip, applied with an expired bank card). A fantastic and smooth job. Gave a 4 star rating as waiting to see the longevity of the product. The repair was easy and quick. I would recommend this woodfilla for small indoor or outdoor tasks.
