Will this work on a partial blockage beyond the u-bend of the toilet?

It worked for my blockage! mine was between the u-bend and the outside sewage pipe and it worked a treat. Took two or three attempts but cleared it beautifully.

Does it fit every toilet hole?

It didn't fit in the curve of my toilet, as the hole is very narrow. However it didn't matter - I just used it like a traditional plunger & it worked. It took a few tries of plunging a lot then flushing (4/5 times), but it worked.

When flushing our toilet or running the sink taps, afterwards you hear some glugging in the pipes for 10 seconds or so. Will this help?

It does sound like a blockage in the main pipe outside as we have a similar situation in the flats where we are and it fills the bowl up and doesnt drain but after plunging it does bubble up and stays blocked this is frequent as someone in the flats are flushing something that causes the main blockage, i think last time it was chicken bones
