A great buy!
Having done a lot of research in advance, I was impressed by the reviews given for this item/brand. I had never heard of Makita before. It turns out that this is because it is mostly used by tradesmen (that impressed me, too, as they know what they are doing...unlike me!). It came down to the wire between this and a Dyson.Even with the cost of a battery and charger added on, it was about £100 cheaper than the Dyson handheld...but would it be as good? The clincher, I suppose, was the long tube option. As bending is an issue for me, this was very appealing. A Dyson cordless vac would have been even dearer. I decided to go with the great reviews and give Makita a chance.I am so glad I did. It is brilliant! Easy to use, easy to empty and the battery goes on forever on one charge. I have been using it for more than a week now, every day and several times a day, and still haven't had to change the battery. I found removing the dust collector very simple and was amazed at what it picked up. It is lightweight and well-balanced too.The suction is excellentIt isn't terrific on cat hair, but then nothing is...not even my regular Dyson....so I cannot complain.

Better than average handheld rechargeable vacuum cleaner
If you already have L-ion Makita equipment (I.e. already have a battery to spare and a charger) this is an excellent vacuum cleaner, beating certain others I've tried. Suction is good for the sort of occasional dust, mud, food solids spillage that one would want such an appliance for. By the same token, good for car valeting.Battery life is good. I've been able to do a daily five minute tidying for a week now without any declinie in power. Has a fine nozzle for high powered suction and crevices and a broad floor tool. Can be used with or without an extension tube for floor use.Simple to empty and reassemble, with a simple quarter turn twist all that is required. The contents are completely visible and accessible for waste disposal. Not such good value if you have to buy the battery and charger ! These could treble the appliance price.

One of our best buys!
I already have 2 Makita 3ah batteries with my drill, which fit this vacuum cleaner, and each battery lasts much longer than our Black & Decker Dustbuster. It is extremely handy to use, has good suction and is easy to empty. Plus you get the Makita quality. When necessary we clean the filter with our Henry cleaner. My wife now uses it for a quick clean of our large tiled kitchen, because it is so easy to use, rather than get out our Henry.

There's better
Only 3 stars. Because it doesn't come with a battery and when listed as body only doesn't tell me there's no battery included. The complete prise with battery and charger and vacuum is no different from a dyson hand held. Which are far superior.Hoover needs emptying frequently and the filter blocks very easily. The length of the handle is to short when full length. And it's difficult to push forward due the the brushes on head. I'm only 5.11" and go to the gym so I'm not too tall or weak.

Great hand held vac, recommended
This is a yet another good product from makita, been using this around the house and vacuums very efficiency, I bought this for work to add to my 18v makita power tools but may keep at home as it's ideal for to jobs where my larger corded vacuum is not needed, the battery and charger are expensive. If you don't already own them.

Rubbish DON'T BUY!!!!!
DO NOT buy this item, it doesn't come with necessary parts, which you then have to buy separately to be able to use it!!!The sellers are really unprofessional and charge £15 to return the item which doesn't work!AVOID at all costs!I would put zero stars if possible, but i had to put a minimum of 1.

I love it
I already had the battery & charger so this was really good value.I agree with some others that the filters clog quickly, especially if cleaning fine dust or ash, and it needs emptying well before it's full. Even so, this has got to be the most useful thing I've ever bought for the home.I live up a muddy leafy lane in a tiny porch-less house with two wood fires and a fluff-shedding cat. The place gets filthy in no time. This brilliant little machine makes it so easy to keep on top of it.It's brilliant. I love it. I can't believe I lived without it for so long.

Eficaz y manejable

Excellent unit.
Light weight and easy to clean. Excellent suction for a battery operated unit. Quick charge and long lasting on one charge. The unit exceeded my expectations. Bought one for my sister who also likes the fact it is always ready to take on a quick cleaning job without the awkwardness of cord and plug-n vacuums.

Now I vacuum every other day!
For years I've been constantly reminded of how nice it would be to have a cordless vac for quick clean ups in the garage and house. I finally ordered this Makita and use it almost every other day. Works great! So much quicker than hauling out the big old corded beast.

Super Teil

Four Stars
It dose exactly what you need it to do, except on carpet, so minus a star.
