Excellent
Finally a great set of scales, accurate and nice looking too. Also appreciate that you can get stones and pounds which many others don't seem to do any more.

Superb!!!
I am delighted with these scales, they are neat, pretty (with the silver sparkle) and accurate, easy to use and a great addition to my bathroom. They neatly slide beside the bath and are ready to had, springing into life when you step on them!! I love the fact that you can have stones, pounds, and ounces as well as kilograms. All round a great product!!

Great upgrade after my old Salter broke — accurate, instant and looks lovely
I bought this to replace my old Salter scale that finally stopped working, and I’m really pleased with the upgrade. The glitter rose gold platform looks elegant in the bathroom — it has a soft shimmer, not overly shiny or cheap looking. Setup is instant: remove the battery tab, place it on hard floor and just step on — it gives a reading immediately without having to tap first. The large LCD display is easy to read standing up. Accuracy & consistency: I stepped on several times and it gave the same number every time, which gives me confidence. What I like • Instant readings as soon as you step on • Very consistent and stable numbers • Slim, lightweight and easy to store • Battery included • Looks premium compared to many plastic scales Worth noting • Like most digital scales, must be used on hard floor • No app/Bluetooth — this is a simple, non-smart model Overall, this is exactly what I wanted after my old Salter broke — simple, accurate, looks nice, and does the job well. Would buy again.

Stylish, Elegant, Robust... a Perfectly working scale!
Intro This product has been sitting in the corner of our bathroom for at least the last year. I have used it on occasion and never had a problem. Its small size and stylish design makes it look great and fit snugly in our bathroom. These scales are covered in a layer of glass, giving it the 'stylish' look. This did initially worry me as I feared stepping onto it with too much 'gusto' in my tired and dazed morning state, but I needn't have worried. The glass has stood the test of time and weight, and after roughly one year I am confident it would take a hell of a lot of pressure to crack that glass! The Specs - Product Dimensions: 34 x 33.4 x 5.2 cm - Product Weight: 1.8 Kg - 50 mm LCD display (900 x 50 mm) - Features an 'auto zero' function whereby it automatically reverts back to zero when you step off - Features an 'auto shutoff' funtion whereby it automatically powers off after a few seconds (automatically turns on and works as soon as you step on it) - Can weigh up to 180 kg / 28 st / 8 lb - Comes with a 15 year manufacturers guarantee Using The Scales I have had many a bad experience with bathroom scales in my time, from having to awkwardly lean over/ bend down to read the display whilst standing on it, to attempting to figure out how to set the scale to zero and when exactly to step on. Fortunately, I have never had any problems with this product. The display is very simple and of a great size. My eyesight is not amazing, but I can comfortably and clearly read the numbers while standing up straight and the back-lit display makes it easy to read whether its light or dark in the bathroom. The measurements are said to be accurate to 100g (0.2lbs) and can display your weight in stones, kilos or pounds; although I personally have never used any other measurement than kilos! As i said the scales are quite small, but not too small so that your feet can't fit on them. My feet are size 10, and they fit comfortably on the scales with no problems at all. The small width/ height, and very thin depth make it perfect for storing in the smallest of bathrooms, and great for tucking away in the corner. Battery Life These scales are operated by a CR 2032 3 Volt Lithium battery WHICH IS NOT INCLUDED! Safety As this product is to be used mainly in the bathroom, i feel safety is an important aspect. The bathroom in which we keep these scales is very very small, and therefore, after a shower the floor ends up very wet. Luckily this product has some very effective, very small 'legs'/ 'feet' that stick brilliantly to a wet floor. Yes this can be rather annoying when your'e trying to shuffle the scales around the bathroom floor with your feet, to save yourself from the herculean task of picking it up and moving it, but safety is important! Unfortunately, the glass surface to this product is a concern. As you can imagine, stepping onto a plane of glass with wet feet is never a smart idea, and these scales can be rather slippery under these conditions. The only way to avoid this is to simply wipe your feet before hopping on, but I feel I must warn you as the glass can get covered in condensation while you shower; so wiping it with a tissue/ towel is the safest option!

Stylish bathroom scales
I bought these digital Salter 9028 bathroom scales to replace another Salter bathroom scale (the same make and model) that were mysteriously chipped. These scales are made from tough tempered glass and are strong enough to take the weight of a person up to 180kg or 28 stones. They also have a 15 year guarantee. I keep our scales in the bathroom, on the vinyl floor next to the toilet. I weigh myself every day without fail before I have my morning shower. The scales are accurate although my weight does fluctuate slightly from between .02 of a lb to 2.0 lb at certain times - I appear to have developed water retention/hypertension. My weight never used to fluctuate so. I am not of a heavy build at all (I am not going to give you my weight, but I am a size 8-10, 5'9'', and my body mass index is within the normal range for my medium build) and I eat a healthy diet rich in fresh fruit and vegetables, and high in protein. I have cut down on the amount of carbohydrate in my diet and anything that might cause water retention like alcohol and caffeine ( I rarely drink alcohol these days and I have cut out caffeine completely), but strangely it hasn't made any difference. I don't eat a high fat diet either-quite the opposite, or consume sugar or sugary foods or drinks, or processed food. Its so strange I can't explain it. I can go to bed to sleep at my usual time before midnight, and then wake up the next morning bloated and suffering from water retention. This obviously shows on the readings on the bathroom scales. It is definitely NOT the scales. They do give accurate readings. Anyway, returning to the mystery of the chipped scales. I have knocked these scales against the side of our ceramic toilet more than once, sometimes so hard that I thought I might have chipped a corner of the toughened glass. There was no damage whatsoever. In fact, the scales chipped a tiny amount of ceramic off the side of the toilet, thats how durable these scales are. In which case I find it very strange that my last scales were very badly chipped about halfway along the underside of the edge of the right side. This area of the scales never came into contact with anything. The corners of the scales which occasionally got knocked against the side of the toilet are still perfect and undamaged. To me the large chip on the underside of the scales looks as if it has been carefully done using a hammer. I have taken close up photos of the chip, and it looks as if the scales were hit twice with a hard object like a hammer to deliberately cause the damage. How strange. It was definitely not caused by me or by my partner. The only explanation I can think of, is that it was caused by the same people who have been breaking into our home and who have stolen both mine and my partners identity, and who have vandalised and damaged our other possessions including furniture and our carpet. The two blows to the underside of the scales that caused the damage must have been done by someone very skilled, someone who knew exactly where to strike the scales, and exactly how hard to strike them, in order to cause the intended amount of damage. Please see my other reviews.

Well, I'm a very big bloke.
Ok, without going into too many details, lets just say that these scales can handle 27 stone on top of them. I have no other scales to compare them to, so I cant vouch for their accuracy, but they seem fairly consistent, which is far more important anyway. If you lift the scales up and reposition them, they seem to need a period of recalibration with you standing on them a few times before it reaches some stability in the readings. If you're going to be moving them about a lot, then you may find the readings vary a lot. Its as simple as that really, just keep them in one spot and don't move them about. As demonstrated already, they are strong. The display isn't backlit, but is large and easy to read as long as you can see around your enormous belly. The display can be set to read in pounds, stones, or even kilos if you are one of them newfangled measurement types. Resolution is to tenths of a pound, (one decimal place), which is good enough. There's no body-fat measurement or anything like that, so if you are looking for just a simple weight measurement, then these are really good for the price. I paid £15 by the way, and for that price I wasn't really expecting much, but I am pleasantly surprised by these. I would buy these again if I broke them.

Goodbye Salter, a quality brand no longer
Bought these scales on 29 December 2019. They replaced a previous almost identical Salter Weighwatchers set. The previous set started being difficult to switch on (foot tap) then when you stood on the scales the reading would change up and down repeatedly until finally settling on a figure. On occasion the display would just blank out. If I got off and immediately reweighed myself the reading could vary anything up to 7lb (3kg) and rarely did it read the same twice. I was standing on the glass plate in accordance with the Salter instructions, I wasn’t wobbling about, and yes I had tried changing the battery (Duracell). The scales were placed on one flat tile on the bathroom floor, I used the same tile every day and the tile is over concrete not wood so there’s no floorboard flexing. No-one in the house weighs 400lb (180kg) so it hadn’t been overloaded. The glass top was only ever cleaned with a slightly damp cloth, no chemicals, and never over the display itself. I put it down to a damp bathroom and having to put the scales away every day rather than leave them out. I hadn’t kept the receipt but I’m pretty sure they were less than three years old, well within the 15 year warranty. I bought this set because it is basically the same as my previous set just without the Weightwatchers branding. I really like the big easy to read display, Salter advertise them as accurate to 0.2lb (100g), they’re slim so they’re easy to store, and they’re easy to keep clean. I had also assumed that the failure of the previous model was my own fault, Salter being a reliable UK brand with a good reputation for quality and offering a 15 year warranty. Plus my Mum and my Gran always had Salter bathroom scales because they were a reliable brand. So this time, to avoid the damp, I kept the scales in the sitting room, also a solid floor. I still moved them out of the way every day but I was careful, they are glass after all. They worked well and I would have recommended the scales if asked. Then last week exactly the same problems started. I changed the battery; it made no difference. This morning when the scales eventually switched on I weighed myself, couldn’t believe the reading and weighed myself three times in succession. Three different readings varying by 5lb (2.2 kg) between the lowest and highest reading. Yes they are cheap, RRP is £29.99, I only paid £14.99 a year ago and the current Amazon price is only £16:49 but just add up the real cost over 15 years if you have to return them for repair or replace them every other year. Yes I could probably find a contact address and pay the postage to return them to Salter and I might eventually get a repair or replacement or I might get a rejection under some tiny clause in the supposed 15 year warranty. So it’s the bin for this set, tempered glass not being acceptable for our local recycling, and yet more time wasted trawling the internet for a reliable set from a different manufacturer...

Finally, an accurate scale
This is the most accurate scale I’ve had so far. It gives accurate readings on carpets or uneven floors because it has carpet feet. I tried 4 other scales that gave me 3 different readings on different spots on floor that ranged in difference from 3-5 lbs within a 5 minute period, so I never knew what the correct weight was. The key with the Salter scale is the carpet feet. So no matter what spot on floor or type of floor you put it on, you always get the same reading. I’m very happy with this purchase.

Discreto prodotto

Sehr edle Waage ohne Schnickschnack.Pures Design.
