That number has changed!! The new number is 01276 401 300. Select option 2 - I was on hold for ages (several minutes) but eventually got through to a real person. Very helpful and said would send out a new spring free of charge. Looks as if it is a common fault from various questions on this page and elsewhere. **Q: the setting for mo bacter is seven with two passes** A: I havn't used Mo Bactor but I have used Arthur Bower's lawn sand set at 6.5 on the Drop Spreader. Again the recommendation was to do two passes at this setting but I found that one pass was adequate. **Q: Is it suitable for spreading lawn seed** A: Yes, there is no reason why this spreader cannot be used for spreading lawn seed. Would suggest a criss-cross pattern be used to ensure an even spread and sow around the perimeter, trees etc. by hand. **Q: Hi does anyone know if this spreader also spreads when pulled as opposed to push. I pushed and pulled now have stripes?** A: I think it spreads when either pushed or pulled, although I use it by pushing and observing where the wheels are to avoid overlapping the runs. If you have done one push and one pull over the same run, a double dose of fertiliser may have been applied.
