Noise Cancelling Headphones

I get overwhelmed by loud sounds, particularly when I'm in a crowd or trying to focus (like when reading a book). While these ear muffs don't block sound entirely, they do dull it. The loud WHIIIIIRR of a vacuum cleaner becomes a tolerable whiiiiirr, the loud performance in a crowd becomes less overwhelming (though definitely still audible), and the quiet ambient noises around me (the ticking of a clock, the chirping of crickets, the scratch of a pencil on paper) fade away. Again, not to nothing- but they fade enough that I can concentrate. YMMV. It's difficult to describe how much it affects noise around you, but I might liken it to covering your ears- and these are generally going to be more socially acceptable than that. They don't help as much with, say, overlapping conversation in the room around you because you will still likely be able to hear what's being said, and words are one of the more distracting sorts of noises in my opinion. They do feel a bit cheap (indeed, they are a bit cheap, but I'm grateful for the affordability), but they're comfortable enough (I think personally I could wear them for up to an hour before needing a break from them), easy to adjust, and small enough I can fold them and fit them in my purse. So I'd say they're a good deal for what they are.

I ordered a classroom set of these, and I highly recommend. There are so many brands out there, but these really hold up and are comfortable. I ended up sharing some with other classrooms, and they were always returned in perfect condition. These are great for students with sound sensitivities, but I have been even more impressed with how they help some of my students with attention issues to focus on the task at hand. Ten minutes and no progress on the assignment? Try using a pair of the headphones to see if that helps! Update: Two years later, I still have not had a single one break. Great investment for your precious funds!

Love these ! Wife says i snore , I know she does ! I put my ear plugs in and these headphones and we both sleep quietly ! Downside is that the earphones could be mounted to the headpiece a little better as they break off after some time and I buy new ones

I love these the sound is perfect I can use these in public places but I can hear someone when they talk to me these are perfect for kids and the size can change depending on your head size these have never broken there easy to put away and adjust I love the bulkiness and I love color the versatility is perfect for trying to work or do different tasks

I can't speak to whether they are strong enough to be ear protection on a shooting range, but I bought them as ear defenders for when I get over-stimulated. They feel kind of cheap because they are mostly plastic, but they work well to block sound and are comfortable and adjustable. They are pretty lightweight and fit my head well. I plan on buying some stickers to cover the ugly serial number on the side of the ear. Overall a decent purchase.
