The reel itself is fine and I'm happy to give the reel 5 stars, but the line on it is crap. When you cast out, the line unravels completely and tangles up like a birds nest. I lost loads of line by having to cut it. The reel is worth the money but the line really isn't.

very well priced arrived on time I am now the proud owner of three of these excellent reels should be four but a darling little angel was running around the pond unsupervised and he snapped the reel handle jumping over the rods then had the cheek to complain to his dad he hurt his foot on landing dad said my fault, the rods should have been leaning up against a tree last time I help a fellow angler land a 15 lb carp. very pleased with reels would happily but from this seller again

Picked one of these reels up for a beginner and it worked well they caught a few low doubles, only downside is when you reel in it feels like it is going to break. For the price it is a nice reel and time will tell if it lasts

I bought the smaller one of the two. Out of the box it looks good and feels ok as well. For price/quality/usability its 5 stars. But definitely not 5 stars when it comes to reels in general. That being said, you are definitely getting value for money in my humble opinion. I usually fly fish, but, on occasions (weather dependant) I like to try tench fishing. I think that this reel will be very suitable for me when on the tench lakes. I haven't used it yet but have had a play with it and it feels like it will be up to the task required of it. No room for complaint here.

This is my third "beta" fishing reel. They are obviously not high end but for what you pay for you get a reliable and decent reel. The drag knob is located rear of the product and this has some advantages such as easy access. I find calling this product "beta" is a little insulting since you can actually catch alfa size fish with this. These products come with some mono line included on them within the already cheap price. So, if you are a beginner, you should be sorted for some "beta level" fishing. For anything else, you should get rid of this line and put something more appropriate for the fish you would want to chatch.

This reel works at bringing line in, and I've caught a few fish on it no problem. However it's not particularly nice to use. The bearing on the bail arm that the line runs through is designed to spin, but doesn't due to poor machining on the bail arm side of where it mounts causing friction; It is not smooth at all, and being so lightweight the oscillating extra drag caused by the bail arm rotating away from the rod's blank is felt clearly through the handle; lastly when reeling in with any kind of tension on the line the spool sounds and feels gritty and not smooth as it moves up and down. For the price you can't go wrong, especially if it's going to be a back-up reel or one to loan to a friend occasionally or for a spare rod, but I wished I went for something a bit more solid, nicer machined, with a smoother action.

Just bought my third one of these and as with the other 2 that I've had for over 2 years now I'm really pleased with it, In my opinion they're reliable well made and good quality for the price !! They've easily handled numerous double figure carp up to 25lb next step is my first 30 lb + only quibble is the line clip can be a bit fiddly to use but that's being really picky !!

These Shakespeare reels are excellent for the price. Sturdy and thus far reliable...nice smooth action and feel better quality than the price would suggest. Have got the small models for general fishing, and the bigger version for carping - and thus far no issues. Very good product relative to price.

Per il momento posso dire che sia un ottimo mulinello (ovviamente in rapporto al prezzo), buona la fattura e di qualità adeguata, almeno nell'uso comune. In seguito se avrò la fortuna di metterlo sotto sforzo con pesci di taglia saprò valutarne anche la resistenza.

a dispetto di cio che hanno detto in molti il filo non è niente male visto il prezzo complessivo. X il resto il mulinello è leggero e maneggevole. per essere un baitrunner un cuscinetto mi sembra poco, ma visto anche il prezzo comunque fa il suo lavoro. l'ho provatoin carpodromo con carpe da 5 kg a10 kg, lavora bene ma la frizione anteriore mi sembra lavori male. Conclusione per il prezzo pagato il mulo è buono ripeto considerato il prezzo. comunque fa il suo lavoro e sono soddisfatto. x la frizione anteriore consiglio di togliere labobina ed ingrassare o comunquelubrificare ulteriormente e gira che è una meraviglia.
