Okay I'm sure grandma is rolling in her grave, but these are so great for the instapot and slow-cooker. Perfect Christmas puddings!

I've been wanting to make a steamed pudding ever since I started watching the Great British Baking Show. These work great. I made a lemon pudding with blueberry honey jam last night and it came out so well that I plan on making one for Thanksgiving.

I will try these again and see how they do with the Christmas pudding, but they are definitely not suitable for a regular steamed pudding. The main issue is the lid is not locking, so the mixture oozes out over the top and sides of the bowl and then drops down into the water. You end up losing a lot of your pudding mixture. It also doesn't cook as well as in a metal basin. When I pulled the pudding out after an hour, the mixture was still runny inside. I had to steam it for another half hour. There's really no substitute for the traditional metal basin with a locking lid. Because Christmas pudding is much heavier and denser and doesn't involve any raising agents, it will probably work fine, though cooking time might have to be lengthened. I'll update this again after I've tried these basins for that. Also, it was supposed to come with two lids and there was only one. So, not a great purchase for something that will only ever be used once or twice a year.

We ordered these to make Christmas pudding and although the basins (bowls) were the perfect size, the item did not come with the clip on lids.

Nice pudding basins and just the right size. I have some larger fluted metal ones which I use also, but they make larger puddings — perfect for Christmas gatherings, but too big for anytime puddings. The release is definitely easier on these plastic basins also. Was really glad to find them online, since not many places around here carry English style pudding basins.

I had a larger recipe so used both basins, one not full. Both were perfect! Unmolded so easily, just fell out! (I did follow directions and buttered the molds and buttered a sheet of wax paper for the top of each). So pleased!!!!Bought the gold colour and they are stunning!

I had the traditional aluminum pudding bowl and it sprung a leak...tons of pin holes in the bowl. So I bought these...no more lining with parchment, no greasing and it seals perfectly. Wish I had known about these before. I make tons of puddings at Christmas and these are a god send.
