KastKing Brutus Baitcasting Fishing Reels, 7.2:1 Gear Ratio

I’ve used several baitcasting reels over the years, and this one absolutely holds its own—even compared to some that cost twice as much. From unboxing to casting on the water, everything about this reel impressed me. 🎣 What I Loved: • Smooth Casting & Retrieval: Right out of the box, the reel felt incredibly smooth. The bearings are tight and well-lubricated, which made for long, consistent casts without much effort. Reeling in is quiet and fluid with zero grind or catch. • Adjustable Brakes & Tension: I really appreciate how easy it is to dial in the brake system. After a few practice casts, I had minimal backlash and a ton of control, even with lighter lures in windy conditions. • Solid Construction: The frame feels tough and well-built, but it’s also lightweight, which is great for long days on the water. The handle has a nice grip, and the drag system has a smooth, consistent pull that’s handled everything from bass to small catfish so far. • Good Line Capacity: I spooled it with 12 lb mono and had more than enough line for casting long distances or fighting a fish that wants to run. Super smooth for an economical bait caster. Used it on the pier slinging shrimp and a 2 oz weight.

Good value bait caster. The drag seems pretty smooth and consistent. I have it paired to a Diawa 7’ medium fast action rod and it’s casts well with 15lb braid. I’ve caught largemouth bass and saltwater fish like trout and redfish on it. Definitely worth the money but not a super high end real either. I’m happy with mine

Always a pleasure fishing with these reels! This is my fourth or fifth KastKing and I must say I’m really impressed with the Brutus! Very smooth and reliable reel! Pair it with a good medium/heavy action cast king rod, and you’ve got one heck of a combo! Rip a lip baby!

Great reel for price. only issue is the drag like to loosen as you fish, not sure if that how I fish or it’s the reel. Smooth reel, current have 30lb braid and can cast very well with only self induced backlash.

so easy to get backlash wouldn’t recommend to beginners drag brakes super easy. other wise worth the money. I recommend a Shimano
