With a light line it should be fine if you can find a rod with vey light action. I currently have 20 pound Kastking Destron and it is only .009” in diameter so Destron in 4-6 pounds should do fine. I think the reel is fine just find a very light action rod that will balance well. **Q: Is it okay to use in saltwater?** A: Hubby said it could be used in saltwater but has to be thoroughly rinsed after each use.
