Great tool for the job
"I recently tackled a bathroom renovation project and needed a reliable tool to remove old silicone sealant. After trying various methods with limited success, I came across the Draper Silicone Sealant Removal Tool Scraper, and I'm thrilled with the results. This scraper exceeded my expectations in terms of effectiveness and ease of use. The angled blade design allowed me to access tight spaces and corners with precision, making the removal process much smoother and faster. Draper scraper's sharp blade effortlessly cut through the old silicone, minimizing the need for excessive scraping and reducing the risk of damage to surroundingWhat impressed me the most about this tool is its versatility. In addition to removing silicone sealant, I found it useful for other tasks such as scraping paint, adhesive residues, and caulk. Its multifunctionality makes it a valuable asset.Overall, I highly recommend the Draper Silicone Sealant Removal Tool Scraper to anyone in need of an efficient and reliable solution for removing old sealant.

Better than expected, genuinely useful
I had to re-seal my bath recently, and bought some sealant remover and this. In the end, I didn't need the sealant remover, as this tool worked far better than I expected it too. I won't say it made short work of the silicone sealant, as that stuff is a nightmare to get off completely, but it made the job a lot easier. What's more, it didn't gouge great out chunks of my bath or tiles, it just worked. I'm not saying it's foolproof, but I found it straightforward to use.Actually, I am genuinely surprised at how useful it was and how easy it was to use. It's not one of those gadgets that you need 10 years experience to get the hang of (Like those blooming glass cutters: what IS it with those stupid things?), it just works as you'd expect it to work, no special knack required. For what it is, it's a quite pricey, so I've knocked off a star. But it's definitly worth trying, it made the job a lot easier.

Fantastic product. Not for the ham-fisted!
A thoroughly excellent product that if used correctly will yield perfect results. I used it on delicate uPVC window frames and trims. The underside of the sharp corner of the front right-angled metal scraper needed a very slight sanding prior to use to enable smooth movement across uPVC surfaces but other than that it was good to go. The flat, sharp plastic scraper was also used a great deal for removing thinner areas of silicon after having used the metal end and it worked extremely well. Once its sharp edge becomes blunted it can be sharpened up again by sanding it with a fine grit sandpaper on a sanding block. No need to cease using it as others on here decided to.I'd buy another one of these tools in a heartbeat and it is likely to be far better than the all-plastic alternatives I've sent on here.NOTE: If you are somewhat ham-fisted you could well do some damage to uPVC windows etc with this tool so be careful!

Ok if scratching surfaces isn't an issue
I bought this tool to scrape away some silicone from around the bath - a job that is utterly soul destroying at the best of times, so I hoped this would help. To be fair, the tool did the job to a point - but I found that the metal sharp end (which is kind of like a "snowplough") scored and marked the bath and the surround when using it - to the point that I stopped using it and reverted to the old school razor blade. It will get the job done, but if you're scaping something that you want to keep looking good (such as a bath surround) it'll do as much damage as it will remove the silicone. This would be great scaping old silicone from a steel sink/professional kitchen, but for home decor it's probably more of a hinderance and will damage your bath/worktop if used with the force it requires to remove old silicone.I'd probably give it a miss, unless you can give it big licks and lots of force without worrying about damaging the finish on a bath/worktop (in which case it'd be great)

Worked well for me on stone shower tray and tiled wall
Was skeptical given other reviews but it worked fine for me. Sprayed 18month old silicone shower seal with C-Tec mutli-solve, waited half an hour and used the metal head pushed and pulled to remove the bulk and the plastic scraper for the rest. Another coating of solvent, waited half another half hour and the last bits came off. Probably one of the least aggro silicone removals in the last 20 odd years. Worth it to save an hour or two and endless clean up if you scrape it off in tiny bits! Yes the metal end is sharp, so if you have a plastic bath/tray/trim you’d have to be very careful.

Canny good
I hate removing mastic round the bath and while this was not the answer to my prayers I did get the job done in half the time, probably. A basic but essentially pretty effective tool (compared to a blade and wallpaper scraper). Extra points for being sturdy and reasonably priced.

Disappointed with this item
A little disappointed with this tool could have been the usage but did not live up to my expectations

Great, good quality tool!
This made removing old silicone much quicker and easier - I managed to remove the bulk of long strips in one careful and slow motion. The other end of the tool does not contain a metal blade, which is actually a positive for me, instead is made of hard/durable plastic - which is ideal for scraping remnants without damaging/scratching the surrounding areas. The plastic is durable so after I was done with the bath tub, the plastic "scraper" remained intact - where as previous plastic tools have curved/warped/damaged rendering them useless for further use.

Sehr empfehlenswert.
