Measurements: In addition to the already provided measurements, there are two measurements I was curious about that nobody seemed to have mentioned on here - not that I could find anyway. The TLDR of this review is that the ideal opening for this device to mount to would be 20.5mm X 25mm, and 1mm to 1.5mm thick. See explanation below. Firstly, the distance between the tip of the clips and the backside of the flange is about 1.05mm. So in other words, it’s basically designed to be mounted onto a panel that is 1mm thick. However, I had already 3D printed a mounting surface that was 2mm thick, and it locked right in there. The clips weren’t able to fully expand, but because of the little “dog leg” bend in the clips, it locked in tightly nonetheless. I would guess that you could get away with 3mm or even 4mm thickness, but that’s total conjecture. The second measurement I was unclear about was the exact dimensions of the proper hole size to cut, or in my case to 3D print. The product photo shows that the width of the side without the clips is 3/4”. So I set my dimensions there for the rough metric equivalent of 13/16”, or 20.5mm. As for the width of the side with the clips, I made that width about 7/8” or 23mm. This proved to be extremely tight but I was still able to jam it into place with quite a bit of force, without breaking the clips. For everyone else’s information, before installing this thing I squeezed the clips down to where the tips of the clips on either side were touching the main body of the device, and the width of that span from “dog leg corner to dog leg corner” was 25.5mm. Remember, the width of the flange is 1-1/8”, or roughly 28.5mm, so I wouldn’t cut the hole any wider than 25.5 or 26mm on that long side. In summary, if were to do it all again, I would have 3D printed an opening that is 20.5mm X 25mm, for a nice tight fit that wasn’t too tight, and I would have made it 1mm to 1.5mm thick. Quality: This thing is actually very high quality. The cables are thick and robust. There are other reviews that talk about the clips breaking off easily and that the USB ports themselves are extremely tight to the point where you can’t pull the USB plug out without ripping the thing out of its hole. They seem to have fixed both of those issues. As I said, I jammed it into the undersized opening I had 3D printed with a lot of force, and the clips did not break, and I am also able to plug and unplug USB devices with the same ease that I would on any other USB port. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the product.

I purchased this to install in the center console of my '05 Subaru Outback, connected to a pair of 12V USB buck converters which were tied into the cigarette lighter there. The unit has a very solid build, thick cables which are not too stiff, and an attractive finish on the front. I was quite happy with the general appearance and make. The design is mostly good, except for the tabs that are intended to lock it to the panel. For me, the plastic of the center console was too thick to accommodate them, and attempting to make them fit resulted in their breaking off entirely. I was able to find a different way to secure the connector, but the design doesn't seem to be a very good one. Other than that, both plugs work as anticipated, for charging anyway. For notes on the install - I measured 1.9cm to a side on the main body of the connector, but you will probably need 2cm or a bit more to allow the support tabs to lock in place. The front panel has enough margin that even if you are off by a bit, it shouldn't be visible from the front. In my case, I removed the center console entirely from the car, measured and scored the wall of it where I wanted the panel, ensuring it would fit when installed back in the car. Then I used a drill to remove most of the material from the panel wall, and an exacto knife to make it square. After I broke the tabs while trying to secure the connector, I ended up removing them entirely and supergluing a small rectangle of kydex in their place - this made the connector snug. After this, I used a conservative bead of JB Weld around the connector to secure it permanently. Not my favorite solution, I like to leave things in a state where they can be disassembled if needed, but I saw no other obvious means of going about it. After that I reassembled everything and installed it back in the car. I had a lot of cable left over, so it'd be nice if it was available in a 1ft length rather than 3ft, but I suppose extra is better than not enough. Generally speaking, would recommend as a USB panel connector.

My desktop computer has limited front ports and the back ports are not very accessible. This works great for extending the the USB ports to wherever you want them. For instance I purchased two of them and mounted them in a thin piece of wood. I then clamped the wood to my desktop and I now have USB ports directory on my desktop within easy reach. I highly recommend!

Fits in the factory USB port of my 2018 versa sedan. Not a perfect fit but works with no mods. There's an inch or so gap but and it needs persuasion but no mods so I'm happy I wish it came with an aux and 2 usb would have been perfect for my radio

Quality product. I needed this to bring two USB 3.0 ports from a remote hub up to my desktop. There are hundreds of hubs available, but hard to find a dual extension.

Purchased an Android Auto capable radio for my vehicle. These were going to extend the USB ports from the back on the head unit to my center console, to make plugging in my phone easier and provide an additional charge port. However, this adapter was the root cause of this not working. I tested multiple cables and compatible phones, and until removing this product out of the chain the phone would connect then immediately disconnect. Instead of returning I'll end up using this for another application. QC 3.0 did work through these cables, but NOT Android Auto.

Used for a more permanent/neater installation in my truck dashboard. Only thing I would recommend is a different locking system as the plastic dashboard is too thick so the clips don’t grab.

I installed this in the rear of the console for my Volvo S60 for rear seat connectivity to my head unit. It requires very little space and looks factory.
