These shaper shorts are surprisingly comfortable for having a decent amount of light-modedate compression. While I'm tall, I'm also quite short-waisted with a long hip/pelvis, and carry most of my weight in my stomach, butt, and upper thighs. The waistband comes all the way up to my bra line, but so far has not rolled down thanks to the fabric quality and small stays strategically placed. The legs are also a great length to not roll on my thick thighs - I'm easily able to adjust them higher or lower depending on the length of my skirt. The fabric is fairly breathable and soft, doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. Other than the very top of the waistband, I can't feel them on after a bit. I'm glad I went with the 4x instead of the 3x. My measurements were on the low end of the 4x, and I decided to opt for comfort over stronger compression. The shorts are quite stretchy, and I imagine someone several inches bigger than me could comfortably wear them. The shorts washed fine in a laundry bag on delicate cycle and didn't shrink too much. I can't speak to their long-term durability and performance, but I will update this review after my events with pictures and final thoughts. I have lots of loose skin across my tummy area and even though it doesn’t sway or jiggle much with this, it still might be a bit more compressed so all the lumps and waves don’t show as much. Of course if you just want modest compression this is perfect for you. If you’ve got lots of stuff that wiggles, jiggles, or waves, perhaps go with something a bit more heavy. It’s great if you have lumps you don’t want squeezed so much you get nauseous or if you want something that you can wear all day! It’s also ok to wear in summer if you don’t have boiling temperatures and high humidity. Or if you’re inside most of the time. I live in a very hot and very humid area and it’s kind of hot…but then anything not linen or very light cotton is miserable. I can wear this if I streak to the car and then office quickly. I tried to wear it to an early church service outside and kind of melted but if there was a breeze even I would have been fine! It covers all you’d need if you’re apple or pear shaped. I would probably would gone one more size down. It fits but it's a little loose. The waist stays put and the garment is relatively easy to put on. The fit is as described and the sizing seems correct, As described, this is not going to flatten your tummy but rather will, and does smooth out the bumps. However the legs do ride up easily and become uncomfortable. I had to readjust them multiple times throughout the day and I was not hiking and climbing mountains here. Just sitting down and getting back up caused the things to shift. Walking any distance also had the same result.
