Shapewear for Women - High-Waisted Shapewear Tummy Control Shorts, Thigh Slimmer, Underwear for Women

I wanted to post an initial review in case anyone like me has events this weekend and is considering buying this. TL; Dr: these shaper shorts are great if you're looking for light compression/support and some smoothing. As a tall plus size woman (5'11", 310lbs, 50-46-56, usually wear a 3x/4x), this item suits my needs to look a bit smoother under clingy dresses, prevent thigh chafing, and provide some abdominal compression for POTS symptoms relief. I have my highschool reunion this weekend and will be wearing a bodycon dress, so I wanted some shaper shorts that would smooth me out a bit without being uncomfortable. The mixed reviews on this item scared me a bit, but so far I'm glad I took a chance. I've been wearing them to work the past couple of days to test them out in case I needed to switch sizes or to another brand. These shaper shorts are surprisingly comfortable for having a decent amount of light-modedate compression. While I'm tall, I'm also quite short-waisted with a long hip/pelvis, and carry most of my weight in my stomach, butt, and upper thighs. The waistband comes all the way up to my bra line, but so far has not rolled down thanks to the fabric quality and small stays strategically placed. The legs are also a great length to not roll on my thick thighs - I'm easily able to adjust them higher or lower depending on the length of my skirt. The fabric is fairly breathable and soft, doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. Other than the very top of the waistband, I can't feel them on after a bit. I'm glad I went with the 4x instead of the 3x. My measurements were on the low end of the 4x, and I decided to opt for comfort over stronger compression. The shorts are quite stretchy, and I imagine someone several inches bigger than me could comfortably wear them. The shorts washed fine in a laundry bag on delicate cycle and didn't shrink too much. I can't speak to their long-term durability and performance, but I will update this review after my events with pictures and final thoughts. Overall, I definitely can recommend these to others looking for similar qualities in shaper shorts. I hope this review helps other tall plus size women as I know how hard it is to find comfortable, flattering clothing for us.

Comfortable and decently easy to get on but it doesn’t have lots of compression. I have lots of loose skin across my tummy area and even though it doesn’t sway or jiggle much with this, it still might be a bit more compressed so all the lumps and waves don’t show as much. Of course if you just want modest compression this is perfect for you. If you’ve got lots of stuff that wiggles, jiggles, or waves, perhaps go with something a bit more heavy. It’s great if you have lumps you don’t want squeezed so much you get nauseous or if you want something that you can wear all day! It’s also ok to wear in summer if you don’t have boiling temperatures and high humidity. Or if you’re inside most of the time. I live in a very hot and very humid area and it’s kind of hot…but then anything not linen or very light cotton is miserable. I can wear this if I streak to the car and then office quickly. I tried to wear it to an early church service outside and kind of melted but if there was a breeze even I would have been fine! It covers all you’d need if you’re apple or pear shaped. I’m really tall and it covered high waist to below mid thigh. Overall I’d recommend it to most folks looking for modest compression and who may not be quite as lumpy as I am. It’s definitely going to be part of my wardrobe! (But there are a few dresses I’m going to have to go to Helga the Corset maker for, the ones with industrial strength spandex and steel boing to keep the wobbly, wavy bits from showing!)

Comfortable but the legs do ride up. The waist stays put and the garment is relatively easy to put on. The fit is as described and the sizing seems correct, As described, this is not going to flatten your tummy but rather will, and does smooth out the bumps. However the legs do ride up easily and become uncomfortable. I had to readjust them multiple times throughout the day and I was not hiking and climbing mountains here. Just sitting down and getting back up caused the things to shift. Walking any distance also had the same result. For this reason alone I cannot fully recommend them.

Lots of the reviews described the product being too big when ordering the size according to the chart. The shorts fit, but they didn't really provide the support expected. On the advice of a few, I purchased a size xs/s instead of m/l like I normally do. When I looked at the shorts, I thought there was no way that I was going to be able to fit my skinny-squishy 165lb body in those itty-bitty things. But I did. And without much effort at all. They're tight, but they're not snatching my waist like they're supposed to. Everything is smoothed out. No bulges. And I can breathe, but it didn't shape my stomach. My stomach is still pooching out like it did before. There's just smooth flub-blub now instead of multiple flub-blubs and no muffin top (which is nice). I sat down on the bed to see if it was possible to still breathe (it was) and I looked at the package. On the back of the package it says "Plus-size black small" and it now makes sense why I am able to wear it. I'm 5'11. 165lbs. All of my weight is in my stomach, hips, and thighs. I wear a size 10-12 in jeans. Plus-sized clothing is made specifically to accommodate a body type that is beautifully voluptuous. Plus-sized clothing is labeled "16W" or "16 curvy" fur example. The W or curvy indicating that it will fit a fuller figured individual. I know there's not a small in plus-size, but I think I've figured it out nonetheless: I have a friend that wears a size 14 curvy which is another way to tell the shopper that this product is constructed differently from a size 14 regular. The curvy or the W are constructed in a way that allows a fuller figure to settle comfortably unlike the regular that would be far too tight and constricting in the waiste, knees, and calves. Anyway... I checked on Amazon and found a plus-size Shapermint, high waisted shaper shorts that can be purchased in size S-3xl. These shorts are made like the curvy or W to accommodate curves that a woman who wore a regular small would not have. I believe the seller may have accidentally shipped a plus-sized garment when the purchaser wanted a regular rather than plus. And I think that this is why some buyers are talking about sizing down while others are describing being swallowed by a boa constrictor and not being able to breathe, or move, or sit. Maybe if I had a regular small then I'd be complaining about that, too because, trust me, I may be skinny-squishy but I haven't been able to fit into a small anything since 9th grade. And that was 32 years ago. 🤷‍♀️

purchased Shapermint after reading so many positive reviews, and I'm so glad I did—it did not disappoint! I've spent a lot of money over the years trying different shapewear, but while many offered compression, comfort was always lacking. My goal was to find shapewear that was comfortable enough to wear throughout the day while helping smooth out my imperfections as I continue working toward a healthier lifestyle. One thing I've learned is that no garment can do 100% of the work—we still have to do our part by taking care of our health. What I appreciate most about Shapermint is that it supports my journey by providing comfort, confidence, and a smoother silhouette without feeling overly restrictive. If you're looking for shapewear that balances comfort with support, I highly recommend giving Shapermint a try. It has definitely earned a place in my wardrobe!

I have struggled trying to find my correct size in clothing and figured out I’m more of a 18-20. Mostly 20. I finally invested in a couple of dresses and thought I could use some shape wear. I decided on this one as it was light and went up to the bra line. Well I had the opportunity to wear it them yesterday (last time I wore shapewear was well over 20 years ago and it wasn’t comfortable). Well this did a great job. It felt good with coming up to my bra line and stayed! It didn’t bunch or roll down and the legs stayed as well. It was easy to take down for potty breaks and easy to get back up. Even on a very hot day! I bought the xxl and it was just enough to flatter and shape without needing to adjust it and fix any roll downs or ups. Some may want a bit thicker fabric and support but for a very hot summer day these were comfortable and made a nice line for a dress. Still trying to figure out how to dress a plus size body. I then changed for and evening get together and put on a pair of trousers and kept them on. Again comfortable and no rolls. These are great!

This shapewear is AMAZING!!!!! Comes up high so you can put it under your bra so there are no bluges anywhere. I wore it to our grandson's outdoor wedding and it was so cool, comfortable, lightweight and it worked. Held me in without being uncomfortable and it did not slip down or ride up. I would buy this again!

Love this shaper short, helps hold in my lumps from losing weight. I’ve purchased before from Shapermint and ordered the same thing here to get free shipping. They are long enough to hold my larger thighs and not roll up.the mini boning in the waist is a real blessing to keep things in place and looking nice. My only concern is that the material is lighter weight than my previous ones. I hope it holds up as well as the others. That’s the only reason for 4 vs 5 stars.

They fit like a dream, they don't roll down, or chafe. Super comfortable while holding in what needs to be held, smoothing your shape nicely. Definitely ordering another pair. Highly recommend.

For the price it is what it is and does what it says it will. Temper your expectations because it's not firm or lifting shape wear. This is perfect if you're looking for something to stop chafing and to smooth things out. The tummy (in my case) will still be there, but now the thighs won't chafe and the dress will lay nicer on the body. It will help with rolls but as far as shaping I know there are better products out there. I bought this for a wedding and had no issues with rolling down or riding up from 5-6 hours of wear. Comfortable to sit in and not a huge hassle to take off in the bathroom. However I would compare this more to spandex shorts than shape-wear. If you're looking for something more breathable however for the summer weddings and dress season or you're a sweaty person, I would stick to active wear high rise spandex / biker shorts. As I find those wick sweat and have slightly more compression than these shorts. But if you want something light weight and super high rise these are great for anti chaffing and light smoothing.
