Review: Wonderful Book for Middle School/Late Elementary School Kids, even Boys! - I bought this for a library at a nearby middle school. The librarian puts a list of her dream books on the school web page, and if you'd like, you can donate a book or three. I checked with the librarian a few weeks after donating the book to see how it was received by the kiddos. I have no kids at this school -- it's the one I attended sometime back in the 1900's. Since then, the school district has become a much lower income place, with my old neighborhood and the other middle class ones like it siphoned off to another school. If you have a kid and you buy a book like this, it would be a very nice thing to buy a second one and have it delivered to the librarian at your old or your kid's middle school. Such donations are almost always received with the school personnel jumping up and down with joy. /end plug for helping underfunded schools/ According to the school's librarian, this book is very popular, especially among boys and kids "who hate to read." To me, that's a hit right out of the ball park, showing kids that they really Don't Hate To Read is a particular goal of mine. It usually means that the kids just haven't been given the right book for their interests. This book really appeals to middle school/late elementary school kids: Most kids love animals, and are especially attracted to books with the occasional picture (this book is packed with them and is especially good for kids making the transition from books with pictures to books without), and is the kind of book a kid wouldn't be embarrassed to carry. In my experience, any of the Guiness Word Record books fit the bill one way or another. The grown up Guiness book would be good for the very best readers in middle school, this level would be good for the rest of the group. I give this one about ten thumbs up; The librarian tells me that she has a waiting list or this book and that the kids like to read it together. That's as good an ad for a middle school kids' book as I can get. Review: Great photographs and facts - Bought for a first grader. Great photographs and facts, as always. Very captivating. And it's great that they are getting in some great nonfiction reading!! Can't go wrong with the National Geographic Kids line. The books are always a hit!

The info it gives you about what animals can do.
I love this book. In March my family went to the Guinness book of world records in San Antonio and I bought 3 books there. Looking in line I saw this book and ordered 2. I gave my granddaughter 1 and she loves it. We are an animal family.

Great educational book for kids!
I bought Guinness World Records: Amazing Animals for my daughter because she loves animals and thought it would help her keep engaged in reading. It’s full of fun facts, incredible photos, and surprising records that keep her engaged for hours. The layout is colorful and easy to follow. Perfect for kids who are curious about the animal world, it’s both educational and entertaining.

Extremely colourful and fun, from cover to cover
This is a great quality official Guiness World Records book, slightly smaller than A4 and about half an inch thick. It’s extremely colourful throughout - literally from cover to cover - and packed with great pictures and interesting facts about animals. My 10 year old absolutely loved it - I knew he would because he loves animals. I asked him how good it was and he told me it was “good - really, really, good”. Which from him is a ringing endorsement. There’s not just interesting facts - “A Hyena’s laugh cane be heard 8 miles away”. There’s quick quizzes, - “ The Beaver is the national animal of which country” plus theres lots of jokes and other fun ideas. The text is broken up into short paragraphs and is very kid-friendly. My son particularly like the seven animal mash-up where you had to guess which parts were from what animals. The Amazon listing could do with one of those “look inside” features so you can see how fun, attractive and bright the layout is. I’ve uploaded a couple of pictures just to give you an idea.
