I almost returned it because of the weight, but glad i didn't. It excels at the chop -- and thrust, with a sharpened swedge. The edge bevel on mine is perfect, and the blade came shaving sharp. I added a finger ring (large key ring) for better control and retention. And customized the sheath a bit.
