Is burping still necessary with mason jars and these?

YES, Still BURP, these packs are to keep an even humidity and prevent MOLD. Burping or anyway you put fresh-air into the Jar, I personally use a cheap aquarium pump and put the hose on the bottom for a few seconds and close the jar, O2 Speeds the Maturing process. Better yet ... seeing as I don't have to stress about mold using the Packets, I burp at my convienience every couple of days.

Can these packs be re-used more than once?

No once opened that's it. They're not reusable.

How does this compare to a size 8 packet " boveda "

It doesn't. Boveda much. Better. This product will give your herbs a funny smell

I want to freeze my flowers in Mason jars. Can these packs go in the jars in the freezer? How long will they last?

Yes, they can go in the freezer, but it’s not going to provide 62% RH in the freezer. It provides 62% at 68F. Also, it’s not a good idea to keep flower in freezer as trichomes will get brittle and fall off (unless this is what your intent is).
