My boyfriend works in landscaping and has gotten in the habit of putting his butts in his pocket wherever he is. It was killing my nose - if I laid my head on him on the couch, the stale cigarette smell was so bad it was giving me headaches, and I used to be a smoker! Not to mention the handful of gross nicotine and butts when I emptied his pockets to do laundry, or even worse, when I forgot to empty the pockets and found them all over the washer and dryer. I got these and asked him to use them. He was a little hesitant - he didn't want to have to spend extra time at work taking these in and out of his pockets, and he didn't think they would work very well. THEY ARE AMAZING! They completely contain the smell, and they aren't much of an inconvenience to him at all. I can put my head on his lap on the couch with these in his pocket, full of butts, and I don't notice any smell. Although, he usually takes them out of his pocket as soon as he comes home - he says they get a little uncomfortable after they start getting full. I'm pretty sure he extinguishes the butts before he puts them inside, but it's been a month now and they aren't even singed. They get him through an entire work day - holding like 12-15 butts. He thinks he could fit a whole pack into one of these, but he says that after about 15 butts, it's too time-consuming to shove more in while he's on the clock and trying to get things done. They dump out easily into the trash can. I even washed them in the sink the other day with just water and paper towels. I shoved a paper towel wad inside and let them dry overnight, and they're almost as clean as they were on the first day we got them. Fantastic product.

Bought for my mom, she loved them! I would say it doesn’t trap the smell 100% more like 80% but it does the job you need which is not burn.

Giving three stars because they do hold butts well and they keep the odor in. The description says you can put a lit cigarette in them but you cannot. Well you can, but the lining will burn. If you stub out the cigarette then use this pouch it is fine but don't think you can use it to extinguish the cigarette without damage.

These are great. You can stuff more in than you think, if you have to. And these make me feel SO SECURE in Wildfire Country: I first got a mini metal ashtray, with a clip-onto my bag; even holding it directly, it's impossible to safely ash in while walking and not all that reliable when standing in place. The foam part takes some getting used to, but once you do, you can 'pop' it open with your fingers and even safely carry your burning tip inside the Ashtray Pouch: safe for the landscape and safe from the rain. And a pretty easy tip to pick up. It really is pretty odor-free, When Snapped Closed. Please be precise. Our generation had velcro. * NOTE: I AM NOT SMOKING IN THE PINEY WOODS. A lot of foliage grows along my large, paved roads and sidewalks. I am known for being EXTREMELY cautious. Edit: Further explanation of how to smoke in the pouch: * (I first bought these April 5th. I am now buying - more August 12th - due to damage and losing one. At $10 cloth, divided by 4, you’d not think these permanent.) * To smoke inside the pouch, you (holding a cigarette reversed in typical two-finger hold) pop the pouch sides with your ring finger and thumb, so it’s held ‘open’. Your ember should not touch the sides, ideally. :) You can smoke safely inside it, hovering over the top, until you cross a street next to a park in California and must quickly push it another half inch inside and close the flap, to avoid being hassled by police and social police, over legal tobacco.

Yes, we should all quit smoking, but until you do, these ashtrays are amazing. I bought them before, and the one I managed to hold on to lasted well over a year. I have put lit cigarettes in them, as well as using them to hold my butts. I don’t smoke in my car, but have kept these ashtrays, full of butts, in the car without affecting the odor of my car. After about a year of daily use, and many times overstuffing before emptying, the seams started to separate. It still worked, but just looked too shabby. I have even shared with friends who saw it and couldn’t believe it worked - at less than $2 a pouch.

Super, je les achète pour mes invités, car, vu que nous ne fumons pas, je dois leur donner une canette ou un pot et cela ne sent pas bon! Comme ça, ils sont autonomes!😉

Très pratique ,,en tant que visiteur pour aller fumer à l’extérieur , déjà que nous sommes en minorités, il serait bon de se débarrassé de cette mauvaise habitude (La cigarette) ….pour fumer à l’extérieur nous , nous sentons plus à l’aise de ne pas jeter nos mégots par terre.. Très pratique se glisse dans un sac à main ou une poche .. Pas d’odeur et plus écologique..
