This is a good investment
I recently gave the insta 360 lens -rotectors a poor review, but to show balance I find this item really useful.Just remove the micro sd card from the X3 in my case, pop it in the reader and attach to your mobile phone.Instantly recognised and a click on the prompt that shows up will take you to the app.Much better and more flexible than downloading from the camera via the app.Highly recommended

Working well.
Using a 128gb card with this, it makes transferring video really easy and fast without having to use the camera that normally would get fairly hot during the process.

Expensive
Expensive what it is and cheap plastic

Expensive for what it does.
It's a pricey bit of kit that's otherwise a simple upgrade. Priced due to the fact insta360 is poo poo at downloading vids over WiFi so feels like it's a mandatory purchase.

Does what it’s supposed to do
Does exactly what it’s supposed to do but I find it a bit of a scam to need such an item. Also is no good for my iPad Pro as the usb c is unsupported on the iPad.

What a disappointment
I was really hoping this would speed up editing of 360 footage. I was interested in the ability to take the SD card out of the X3, putting into his and connecting to my mobile. However when I tested the performance during editing was no better than using a cable to connect the X3 to my mobile.I also ran some testing with the reader connected to a PC and found that it was running at USB 2.0 speeds so maximum transfer was 41MB/s. So for a reader that costs 4 times the price of a generic USB 3.0 reader this is really poor value. As a side note so not only is the reader only USB 2.0 but I got confirmation from Insta360 support that the X3 also only has a USB 2.0 port. So really no point to this as a cable runs at the same speed, doesn't use the X3 battery (in fact my mobile charges the X3) and is a fraction of the cost. Only benefit would be if I wanted to edit footage while recording a timelapse or if I wanted to record directly to an external reader but most wouldn't want that as it makes the X3 more fragile.
