If I could give this book 10 stars, I would. Nothing could prepare me for those final few chapters. Wow, this book hit me everywhere and I felt everything. I'm emotionally wrecked but in the best way, if that's even possible. I bought this book on offer at 99p and it was the best thing I ever did. I probably would've bought it even if it wasn't on offer. The blurb just called out to me as soon as I read it. I can't remember the last time a book made me feel the way I feel now. A little lost, a little broken, and everything in between. I loved this book so much. It was way too sad and emotional in parts but it really made the book what it was. It was heartbreaking at times but I still would have read it. This book will be with me forever, I feel like I'm stuck in this story still, with the amount I cried, it doesn't feel real. Beautifully written and one of the most powerful books I've written in a while.

The Last Letter completely broke me in the best and worst ways possible. I'm not sure if it was my own experience of having people leave when you have a young child, the longing to be loved and have someone stand beside you through life's battles, or the fact that I've come from failed relationships and could relate to the characters simply being "content" with what they had. Whatever it was, this story hit me deeply. I genuinely struggled to read this book, not because it wasn't good, but because I spent so much of it crying. Rebecca Yarros takes your heart, pulls it out, and stomps all over it. The emotional journey is intense, raw, and unforgettable. The connection between Ella and Beckett is beautiful from the very beginning. Their long-distance friendship is filled with warmth, hope, and all the feelings you could imagine. Watching their relationship grow while they navigate life's ups and downs was both inspiring and heartbreaking. Their love, resilience, and strength carry them through unimaginable challenges, making their story even more powerful. *The Last Letter* is devastatingly beautiful, heart-wrenching, and packed with emotion. It left me in tears more times than I can count, but it was absolutely worth every page. I 100% recommend reading this book—just make sure you have plenty of tissues nearby because you're going to need them.

Not many characters which makes it easy to follow. A great book about love and loss. Some moments are particularly gripping and emotive. Love how this book moved me. I have just bought another book from this Author as I enjoyed the story and style of writing so much!

The characters feel real, and it’s a real emotional rollercoaster of a read. Be warned—have the tissues ready. This story will truly break your heart. I am not okay! I'm not even sure where to start with this one - I feel emotionally wrecked. I read the warnings, I knew what I was letting myself in for - yet, here I am - still sobbing! The Last Letter is a beautiful, heartbreaking story about Ella and Chaos. Ella a small town single Mum, raising 5 year old twins by herself in her mid-twenties whilst also running a set of cabins in the mountains. Then there's her penpal - Chaos, a military man on deployment, a lone wolf apart from his best friend Ryan, Ella's brother. Chaos receives Ryan's last letter, the letter sent after you pass. With instructions to go to Ella and look after her and the children through their grief, Chaos leaves the military and devotes himself to being available for anything Ella needs. There's just one thing - she has no idea he is Chaos. I truly did not want this book to end. I could have kept on reading forever. That's the only negative - it ended! This will for sure be on my top 5 of 2026. Everyone needs to read this at least once.

This is the first Rebecca Yarros book I’ve read and it had such an impact on me, hands down the best book I’ve read this year (and I’ve read a few!). I haven’t cried so hard because of a book in forever and I could read it again and again. Get comfy, sit and read it but get the tissues ready because it will break your heart ♥️

I hope all the talk of tears and sadness doesn’t deter anyone from reading this story. There's an abundance of hope and laughter in The Last Letter, and while the sad parts are impactful and harsh, so is the happiness. I love that, no matter what challenges they face, neither Beckett nor Ella ever give up. Their shared experience of loss makes their determination even more heartening and reassuring. I can believe why this book made such an impactful mark and it will forever hold a very special place in my heart. It's an absolutely fantastic read—a heartbreaking yet realistic portrayal of romance, military life, and the unexpected trials life throws at you. I can't imagine a world without this story. I loved every minute of it and I am off to as many of them as I can from Rebecca because apparently, I never learn.

Paid 99p so for the price it was a good read. My review would be different if I had paid many pounds. I have never read anything by this author before and this isn't my typical genra. I read the amazon reviews first. This gave me very high expectations and this maybe the reason why I feel a little disappointed. Through the letters you get to know each of them. She for me is very immature, emotionally, intelligently. Considering she had to do life alone, with twins, how she remained dim is beyond me. She lacked depth, personality for me. How she never at any point questioned or connected dots is astonishing. He however seemed wise beyond his years, had personality, depth, a warmth. Half way through, it seems like the author struggled, areas were dragged out, repetitive. There aren't many twists and turns. I would say one was a twist near the end and not expected. It was nice to see the side of twins and the connection they had. Most dream of a romance, movie, type novel romance, and a connection they dream of and this is close to that. There is a level of this between the two. The storyline will make you cry a little, some crying is for yourself and some are for the characters and how it tugs at our heart strings. However - this isn't just a story; it's an exploration of what it means to connect, to love, and to cherish the people in our lives, it shows the small things we miss and take for granted. Life is fragile, short and this shows you a few angles on this. Our last words to people each day could be their last, this is something we need to remember. I also took away that our own actions are important, as if we are the last one standing, we have to ensure that we have always done our best, as it's us that will carry that weight forward. I recommend this novel and the life lessons it can teach us.

I went into this book totally blind, it was one I had agreed to buddy read with some people, the author has been on my radar for a couple of years now...I don't live under a rock! But I just hadn't picked any of her books up yet. I was immediately caught up in this book, I loved the letter exchanges with Ella and Chaos and found myself smiling as I was reading them as they were getting to know each other. In the back of my mind I was trying to prepare myself for the moment when the letters may stop... clearly I didn't prepare myself enough as that had me tearing up. It was such an engaging read that once Beckett came on the scene and started developing a friendship with Ella I was having all the loved up feels and a bit of a crush on Beckett myself. This was such a compelling read it had me feeling a complete range of emotions far deeper than I expected to I smiled, ugly sobbed and literally had a moment where I was crying so hard I couldn't hold the book in my hands. It's one of those books that will forever stay with me and gave me all the feels I had when reading Bridges of Madison County and The Notebook. It was so much more layered than just a romance read, it had trauma, fun moments and devastating moments. It showed the unbreakable bonds people form through shared trauma and loyalties with strong messages about forgiveness, survival and the healing power of unconditional love, family and also found family. Al principio, La última carta me resultó algo confusa, y el drama intermedio de Ella me pareció excesivo. Sin embargo, la estructura de cartas y la emotividad fueron creciendo. Los personajes brillan, aunque Ella me parecía demasiado dramática hasta el tramo final. Beckett, por su parte, es entrañable, aunque roza lo idealizado. Kindle. Though I found a little bit weird to write letters to someone you don’t know, it was a beautiful story. I enjoyed it very much and shed one or two (or a thousand) tears. Read the trigger warnings because as a mother of a little one some parts were heavy and heart-breaking.

The last letter is such a moving book that brought me to tears repeatedly.. Definitely recommend it!
