Scott,I'm sorry but no! This set is actually not what it leads on. It's two UNCOMPLETED decks. If you want to get started with a friend I suggest buying class starter decks. I also suggest looking into "Raid decks" this is a lot of fun. NOW I will say this item does have some good cards in it. But to get started no. There is a small percentage chance that it might.

Is this a vs game like mtg or a co op game?

This is a VS game, however can be played as a co-op if you get a Raid deck to play against.

Does this come with any loot cards for pets or mounts?

the cards are randomized into each pack so... It's more of a matter of luck if anything else. (Though I wish you luck in trying to get those things!)
