pretty blood red!
Itโs a really gorgeous red. I was going for a light pink to blood red, and this is the perfect shade. The undertone is brown and a little pink, which is perfect for what I was going for. Itโs so pretty!!!

Good Quality
EXACT COLOR DESCRIBED!! Left little to no stain on my bathtub, just be careful of lighter fabrics. I love how easy it is to apply. For reference this is the first time Iโve ever dyed my hair. The fact that itโs also eco-friendly, good quality, color, and doesnโt stain everything you look at is a blessing. Will buy again when I run out.

It's a Deep Bold Red
I had been wanting to try this coloring and finally gave it a shot. I'm really liking it so far. The shade of red is deep and bold on both the bleached areas and the darker roots. I have been doing red for several years. The last one I was using, everyone thought was pink. That was fine, but I wanted red. I'm getting red now. Also, my last one would dull after the first rinse. I've done 4 washes with this brand, and the color is still pretty strong. Some has washed out, yes. That's typical, but it's not dull. It's bold and shiny. I'm very happy I gave this a try.

Color rubs off
I used this dye on bleach blonde hair, Iโve had pink hair previously and wanted to try a dark red. The color was really pretty and that was with only one round of dye, but my god it rubs off on everything. I havenโt had crazy fading on the hair itself (I use a color conditioner) but the color is on everything. Pillows, shirts, towelsโฆ Iโm used to this to some level with the other colors I have done, but never this intense. My neck looks like Iโve applied blush to it everyday just from my hair touching it. I liked the color and would have used it again but it is not worth it with the staining, I would have returned the extra bottle I had but the return shipping only leaves me with like two bucks at the end of it so I chose not to bother. For reference I used a little less than two of the big bottles to dye my whole head, root to end. My hair is about waist length but itโs straight and not very thick. Update: Originally my review was three stars because I did like the color and it was easy to apply since I didnโt have to be mixing developer. But I had to drop it because Iโm still rubbing color off on everything, I even ditched the color conditioner to avoid adding more pigment but nothing. Any shirt I wear is stained, no matter the color. Black is the only thing and even then I can tell the color rubbed off itโs just not noticeable. Anything my head touches is bound to get stained if itโs more than a minute, it is not worth it and Iโm having a mini nightmare trying to figure out how to get rid of this color ASAP before I stain someoneโs elseโs things and embarrass myself.

It was definitely some shade of red.
This dye was my first Lunar Tides hair dye. I was going for a rich red like the one shown on the bottle but instead it turned fire engine red on my hair. It was more of an orange based red than a purple or maroon base. My hair was completely bleached prior to application, also. Other than that, the dye did last about three weeks on me before barely fading out.

works well, even on extremely damaged hair!

It's Long and Complicated
Please note: I'll be comparing this dye to Manic Panic's Infrared because that is my usual. This may not be the most comparable color between the two brands but is the dye that I am the most experienced with. I've written this whole thing out once, only to immediately accidentally delete it. This is probably going to be a longish review even with my attempt to hurry through my points. I did so much research before buying this dye and the pictures attached to this listing all look amazing. I have naturally blonde hair that I've been dying red for an eternity. My roots are light enough that I don't need to bleach them before coloring. Blood Moon is currently resting upon layers and layers of Manic Panic Infrared and Vampire Red. I love love love the quality of MP and the only reason I was interested in making a switch, was boredom with the same colors over and over again. Lunar Tides has a very positive reception around the internet. I came across a list of the best fashion dyes and Lunar Tides occupied the top place, with Manic Panic being several places behind. I decided that with all of the wonderful press I'd been seeing, it was worth trying a different brand. Blood Moon sounds like a thing that would be right up my alley, anyway. I don't like leaving negative reviews, so I am going to start with what I liked. The seller is prompt and the order was accurate. Packaging is adorable. The color is fine, it's not a bad red. My main gripe is that the color is terribly sheer. It looks like someone turned the opacity waaay down on Infrared. There is even a noticable difference with the formulas. Manic Panic is just much thicker and more pigmented. It's a similar contrast between liquid lipstick and lip gloss, with Lunar Tides being the latter. The intensity just isn't there. It's more of a tint or a stain, than a dye (on me). Maybe my hair type just isn't ideal for this dye? The color is okay. It's very classically red. When I dye my hair with Manic Panic's Infrared, it initially looks like a deep and shiny slice of red velvet cake. The color fades to a brilliant ruby red. There is so much depth to the pigment and it almost evolves, instead of washing out. I would not have to redye if it weren't for my roots. Speaking of roots! Lunar Tides did a real number on my new growth. It tinted the blonde with a light orangish copper. The overall color would be tolerable if it hadn't ghosted the top of my head. I had some left over Infrared from my last dye, which I wanted to use to add some dimension to Blood Moon. The sections that I dyed with Manic Panic are the only places were the color reaches all the way to the top of my hair. This isn't a bad dye. If you have bleached hair and you're looking for a lovely classic red, Blood Moon is your gal (probably). If you're dying over any deeper color, please do yourself a favor and skip this. Manic Panic is a magician when it comes to crimson. Infrared is intense, dimensional and long lasting. Vampire Red is a close second. I'm going to include labeled pictures to help illustrate my point. Thanks for reading, and to everyone who is out there on a research binge: good luck with whichever dye you reach for!

Iโm a natural ginger, this is one of the only dyes to work on my hair
This product does stain, but i was able to get a lot of it out of my hands just from washing my hands and using makeup remover wipes so it wasnโt too bad, all that is still stained is my finger tips. I am a natural ginger, but more on the auburn side, so typically any kind of hair dye tends to make my hair looks a brown color. I didnโt bleach my hair, so this is what it simply looks like on without bleach, which i do love the color!! The only real issue I had is that it didnโt take to my roots real well so itโs mostly just my natural hair color, but i kinda dig the way it looks so iโm not gonna redye them!

Perfect Red Velvet hair colour
This colour was exactly what I wanted. It reminded me of the plush red velvet dresses of the 1940s - absolutely perfect!

Best Hair Dye
I've tried A LOT of hair dyes in my many years of dying my hair, but this red absolutely beats ALL of them. It does stain so definitely wear gloves, and it has an orange tint. But the vibrance is unbeatable!

Ne tient pas longtemps
Ce n'est pas du semi permanent. Au bout de 2 shampoings il n'y a presque plus couleur.

Blood moon did NOT disappoint
Edit at the end. Im naturally a dark blonde. I always have high lights put in over the winter as my tan fades or else my skin tone looks very dull. I was nervous with this product. I wasnt sure how it covers. It states that there are some orange tones to it. When I first opened the bottle I thought it was to dark. Then after applying it I thought it was too orange. NOW I LOVE IT. I couldn't be happier with the results. Its very close to the sample picture. Edit :Just be aware there is alot of tub and hand scrubbing afterwards. 3 days later its still transferring to my hands when I style. Ive done a 2nd rinse in cold water and its not flushing clean.
