These are the best "Planet of the Apes" movies ever made. Forget the Charlton Heston ones or the Tim Burton one - these are it. Compelling story line, great acting, excellent dialog and mind-bogglingly good special effects. The CGI apes are absolutely believable real and nothing like the old rubber masks. They may not be able to do CGI humans yet (they still fall into the "uncanny valley") but for the ape characters here, you WILL believe! The 4K video and the DTS HD-MA audio are spectacular. Some folks complain about the lack of Dolby ATMOS audio but how many of us actually have ceiling channel speakers in our home theaters?I got these at a stupidly good price (just $18 US) just before Xmas 2023 and even though I already have them in HD on Blu-ray discs (don't tell my wife!), it was worth the low price to make the video upgrade. Oh well, the local library gets the old box set...I can't wait for the fourth film to come out next year! I'll have to get it in UHD when it comes out as well and will probably pay more for that than for these three in this box set. How stupid is that?

What can I say that hasn't already been said? This trilogy is magnificent and is up there for one of my favorite trilogies ever put to screen. Each move builds on the last and the expansive, epic story brings along action, spectacle, and emotions, all culminating in an incredible conclusion. RISE answers the question “why we shouldn't mess with mother nature; it introduces us to our protagonist Caeser and shows how the oppressed will rise up, no matter how much we try to contain them. Each scene just flows from one I the next and nothing is in the movie that doesn”t contribute to the overall story. DAWN brings us the middle chapter, and my personal favorite. It expands our understanding of Caeser and how much he wants peace but will do whatever for his own kind. On the opposite side is Koba: an ape born in hatred and fear of humans which leads both our main characters into an battle of epic proportions for the earth. WAR breaks down Caeser and strips away everything that defined him previously. His wife and child are killed leading him on a quest for revenge but also for a purpose. This one out of the entire trilogy really focuses on Caeser’s inner demons and what makes him tick; how it does this is profound and the only way I can describe it to you is for you to just watch it.In the end, BU THE TRILOGY. The 4k transfer is crisp and you feel as if you were standing right next to Caeser. Also, the box set has an embossed feeling on it which is really cool and just an added layer of awesome. BUY IT! BUY IT NOW!

This is what all physical editions should look like.Collectors will definitely love this set.The artwork, the build quality and the movies themselves, are great.I wish studios did this most frequently, but they mostly limit to release a movie, instead of putting a little effort to make it look more worth buying.It's such a simple thing to put a little more color and cardboar, yet most publisher only send an empty box with the discs stacked.Blu Ray 4k market is a niche one. Companies should treat it like that to make more people be interested on acquire their movies and not to lose their faithful customers that resist to physical media's death.Image quality is stunning, and the audio is everything you may expect. Great as only physical media can deliver.Also, it includes Imax enhanced footage. It will look stunning on your TV.

cant believe I got 3 $K movies for under 18$--cheaper than regular DVDs!!!! These are truly classics for any fan and the 4K treatment is phenomenal. Breakdown:--while a sci fi action series these films also have a strong heart, exploring relationships, friendships and family, ape and human, between action sets--Andy Serkis deserved an Oscar--his portrayal of Caesar throughout is breathtaking and even better than his performance as Gollum--best by far is "War" or disc #3--directed by Matt Reeves who has become one of our best directors. Truly wraps up everything and includes a stellar performance by Woody Harrelson as a renegade Army Colonel dedicated to exterminating apes--Rise is a very good beginning story--Dawn is also very good, but it si bookended by two better films. Its a needed transition film though

The Apes movies are great. I like Rise and Dawn much better than War. Nothing wrong with that one, but the first 2 had more entertaining and complex themes, whereas the third film pretty much became just a rescue mission...IF you Redeem your digital codes at FOX and select "Apple/iTunes", they'll redeem as 4K. OTHERWISE, the end result is a mix of HD Only's and maybe one as 4K (as others have stated). 5 stars for the trilogy and price, but 1 star docked for this whole code fiasco thing.

I like having physical media and purchased this set to add to my collection. I had these in HD quality on VUDU/AppleTV, but the price was reasonable enough for me to purchase the set.I do not like that the digital codes that came with it are not for UHD. They are only for HD. Also, only codes for 2 of 3 were included in my set. The set was unopened when received and just didn't include one.So, if you are hoping to get UHD digital codes, this set does not include them. It includes up to 3 codes for HD only.

Dawn and war for the planet of the apes had digital codes of Rise did not! I’m sad because now I cannot play it through my tv.
