A nice looking bedside radio that does mostly everything I need.
My quest for a DAB radio that ticked all boxes was a long one. Strictly speaking, it's not over. However, the Azatom Revial R1 is as close to perfect as I've found so far and I have to say, I'm happy with it. My previous Ocean Digital radio was approximately 15 years old. The screen started going and I knew it was time to find another one. I went through several Pure radios (Elan, Siesta), VQ, Denver and not one of them could tick all boxes. The must haves were DAB, 2 alarms, decent sound and good dimming qualities - not such a tall order I don't think. The closest that I came to this was with the Denver radio, but it was just too bright at night. In came the Azatom radio - DAB+, good sound, 2 alarms and a button to toggle the dimming of the screen. Whilst I still feel the dimming could be slightly better, you can turn it off completely if you wish. The fact you can easily toggle the brightness gets the thumbs up from me. The radio is easy to operate once you get the hang of it, looks sleek and smart and it also has a metal antenna as opposed to the cable antenna, which I much prefer. It's picked up all the stations I was looking for and so far I am happy with how it's performed. You have the option of a buzzer alarm or radio, which is great. There's also a steady increase in the radio volume in the morning which I think is a nice touch. You can also control the volume as you like for the alarm. On many other radios I've tried the minimum volume for the alarm is so high, it would wake you with such a start - why oh why would anyone create a radio like this is beyond me. No such problem with the Azatom though :) As a side note: I noticed that when I first tuned the radio and it started playing Absolute 80s, the time was off by 1 minute. I e-mailed Azatom who were very quick to respond and told me that it was likely based on the radio station I was listening to. I changed the station to Planet Rock but it was still a minute out. However, unplugging the radio and leaving it for a moment before powering it back on sorted it straight away. You also have the bonus of being able to register your product for an extended 3 year warranty. I think this shows they trust their product. Thank you Azatom :)

Excellent product
functional radio. Not the easiest to use as small buttons on top of the unit and it's easy to get confused as to which is which. Sound quality and alarm are fine. Display at front showing time, etc is illuminated at three levels - dim, brighter and brighter still. Would recommend.

Works great
Looks great, works very well. Did my research and this came out tops for the cost and I have not been disappointed. The alarm wakes me 100% of the time but gently as I have it on its quietest and set to my fave radio station. No more loud alarms ๐จ waking the whole house. It saves the alarm details so if the power is interrupted your alarm is still programmed ๐ Also gets itโs time from the DAB so no worries there! Love the retro look but modern qualities. Sturdy and robust. Great value for money. Defo recommend! The alarm takes a bit to figure but to be fair itโs easy enough once ya know how. Itโs no more complicated than any other alarm clock. I think the people that complained in their reviews must never have had a proper alarm clock before. No more need for mobile phone in the bedroom. Do your research here, worst thing is to let your kids have a phone in the bedroom, especially for their sleep. Very hypocritical to keep your own if they are not allowed. Eaiser to have a โhouse ruleโ.

Great bedside alarm clock
I am a big fan of DAB (clock) radios, as if nothing else, they don't need the time setting. Plug it in, leave it for a couple of minutes, and it has picked up the time. Setting the alarms is simple enough, and the device comes with a quickstart sticker on the top of it to say what buttons need to be pressed in what order to set the alarm(s); there are two of these. I like the fact that the usb socket at the rear of the device can be used as an input (seriously, who does this?) or more usefully, as a charge outlet for your phone. Sound quality is great; the clock is eminently readable in most, if not all, light conditions. Minor gripes: 1. the buttons on the top of it are not especially logically laid out (at least for me), but you get used to them. 2. the telescopic antenna is not ideal. I would prefer one of the more common soft / flexible wire types, as I 've never come close to poking my eye out on one of those.... YMMV on where the antenna is, but mine has ended up vertical right next to where I would bend down for the plug sockets next to the bedside table. A little soft mascot on the top has removed this risk.

Easy to use.
Well packed for delivery. Easy to follow instructions. Easy to use buttons. Automatically went into tune mode and time set as son as conected to power source. Good sound in music mode considering size. Good value for money. Overall very happy.

Clock radio
Itโs a great little radio alarm clock, the sound of music is incredible for something so small. Worth every penny. A1+++++++++++

Irritating UI
Having owned this for a month the radio is fine. The sound quality is good for a compact speaker. The user interface is irritating. Pressing the alarm buttons to turn the alarm on or off usually selects the Alarm Setup menu. Holding the button down several times will usually get the correct alarm set or unset. Using the wrong combination of long presses means that I get the wrong alarm setting more often than I get the right setting. If you need to turn off the radio/alarm rather than pause it with the Snooze button you have to use the power button, press this a little too long and the device shuts down, resulting in no alarm in the morning. Also, the volume buttons are disabled when the radio is on in alarm mode, if you want to increase the volume to hear something more clearly, you can't. Verdict if you need a reasonable radio with occasional alarm it's OK, but I would not recommend it if you need a reliable alarm clock
