Review: Would recommend - Works really good I use it to air raid the pond a hundred feet long 50 feet wide Review: ***1 year WARNING review*** - I'm on my second pump, the first lasted almost 3 years, the motor still runs, the pump stopped pumping water, then, I pulled it out of my well and, finding the pipe had slipped off the nipple on the pump, i tested it and it started working so I reinstalled it. It stopped being able to pump up to the storage barrels but still able to produce a little over a gallon per minute at the well. Its now down to a trickle that i havent mesures. As mentioned, its been installed about 8 months, it took me a while after ordering it to get it installed. I just misses the one year complaint window on it by 5 days. If id thought about fixing a complaint earlier when i first started having issues, i may have had recourbe, so be avare of that. I am trying a different pump in the next few days. I would be pumping from a 6 foot tank to a cabin system and trying to get 30-50 psi.** A: This is not a pressure pump. I use to fill tanks from my well and pumps at 7psi at 3 gallons pm. Have been using it now for 4 years and works great. **Q: Can this pump operate in a horizontal position without damage to the pump?** A: as I understand it horizontal is fine **Q: Hundred feet down keeps coming off and on** A: Several possible causes. 1) If you don't have one or two inline backflow check valves the water could be draining back down into the hole. 2) Battery is not large enough or in good-enough condition to power the pump. Use a voltmeter to look at the battery voltage for excessive fluctuations during the cycling. 3) I would assume you have some kind of control and if so check to see if something is causing the control to cycle excessively. 4) Your solar panel may not be putting out enough energy to maintain battery voltage with a pump which is running frequently because of high demand. 5) Check all wiring and connections - a bad connection, nicked cable or other similar issues could cause these symptoms. It recently stopped pumping after I agitated the well with an air lift trying to remove a few feet of sand in preparation of the upcoming drought. This year I fear the well will go dry without going down a few more feet. My shallow well has filled in about 36" in the past 65 years. It does not sound like much, but that is a lot of water with a 4' caisson. The water is hard. While the inside of my pump looks good, the label isrusted because manufacturer must use metallic ink. The electrical connections were also rusty, but everything else is fine. For the past three years this pump has moved 1300 gallons of water per day.
