Not what americans are used to, are not flavored
I got these specifically of the lack of salt or seasoning. They are, as they claim to be, roasted sunflower seeds, and that's it. They are a smaller fully black variety, with weaker shells than the large white and black striped seeds many americans are used to. that said, they do have a richer flavor to them, and are easier to deshell. you can even just crack them by rubbing them between your thumb and forefinger in some cases. that said, I don't think many who are used to a ton of salt with their sunflower seeds will like these. they can come off as a very mild flavor compared to things like dave's ranch or salted seeds. I enjoy them a lot. others might not. just make sure you know what you're buying.

And I'm *sure* that was not ideally the way to say "this is perfect for me". Just didn't sound right, but I hope the intent was clear. I tried to look into David's sunflower seeds, only to find that they add so much salt/sodium on them. Especially when I'm trying to manage my weight and blood pressure, I don't think taxing my renal arteries over an otherwise healthy substance was worth the risk, even if it's widely sold in the U.S.. This stuff, even if it's Russian import, is ideal for me simply because there is no added salt: just plain roasted sunflower seeds. The shells are nice, but some are kind of defective, which isn't a big deal. However, opening the bag for the first time is quite an experience: you get the subtle smell of the roasted sunflower seeds pulling up thru your nose, perhaps a hint of the natural oils retained through the roasting process also making their way in there. I'm also glad the bag is resealable, even if the roasted seeds are in their shells, which can help maintain their freshness without much of a struggle. The bag I have received has its guaranteed freshness until October of this year (datestamp "10.05.20"), meaning that the batch is still fresh, but not exactly just fresh right out of the factory: I noted that the first datestamp is set to "05.04.20", which essentially means the batch was manufactured in 5 April this year. This indicates their average shelf life before they start to become stale is around six months. I've just measured an ounce of ัะตะผะตัะบะธ at the recommended serving size, which is an ounce (1 oz), and it's been two days, and I haven't exactly finished it just yet. Would I recommend this for the preparation of salads? Not really: these are frankly intended for snacking, if you haven't picked that up, yet. It would be such an overly tedious process to even make just enough to add as a topping for your salads, plus the only best method known to many semechki snackers is thru your teeth, so I don't think it's worth it regardless of who you're making the salad(s) for. Overall: Guiltless healthy snacking done right.

This is not the first time I buy this brand. Well fried, not old and tasty. I only give 4 stars because they get my fingers dirty.

Not worth it a penny!
It's tastes awful, just awful. I have purchased them before. They were not bad then. But this time- it's not worth a penny. No taste, not roast enough. I have wasted my money. I will not recommend this brand to nobody. Shame!
