Lunar Tides Semi-Permanent Hair Color (43 colors) (Smokey Purple, 4 fl. oz.)

It's definitely a muted smokey purple as described. It's very pretty and was the color I was craving at the time. It is, however, less purple than you might like. Mostly you can see the purple when you are outside in the natural light. Indoor lights it looks like a muddy color almost brown. But if you're near a window you can see it. It's unique that's for sure. I can't say for how well it applies, bc my hair isn't in the best shape, so it only stuck to half, as you can see from pics (with and without flash and also wet here) but I did mix a shit ton of white conditioner to dilute it, so that and my porosity being wack might be that reason. Needless to say, I left it for a few days til it faded out and then put my go to purple over it, lie locks from manic panic. ( A gorgeous purple heavy on the blue side that fades nicely) Anyways, I liked this color. It was fun to play with and very unique from any other color on the market, so I give it 5 stars.

This is my first time using Lunar Tides. I haven’t heard much about the brand, but figured I would try it out because the shades are really pretty. My hair was about a level 8 when I dyed it. It came out awful. It looked like it did not hold in my hair at all even though I kept it in for an hour. It looked grey … maybe closer to the slate shade than Smokey purple. It’s not hideous but it is not the color shown in the picture at all. I was expecting something a lot more vibrant.

I used pulp riot blank canvas to completely get my hair back to square one from my previous purple. I really wanted something with a lighter more muted tone and loved this one. The day I colored and washed I loved it. I washed it twice more in about 9 days total (one was a co-wash, I have curly hair so I don't wash frequently). In that time between those 2 washes and apparent time in the sun, the top layer of my hair almost completely came out and turned to more of a blue color. It's been barely 3 weeks and it looks like my color would after months of other brands (honestly, it looks grey). I really really wanted to like this (and if you want something that washes out quickly this will work for you), but as someone that's kept their hair a vivid for a few years now I can't recommend this product.

Okay I've been stuck in a manic panic phase but I got tired of the shades, and I didn't want to buy extra just to mix colors. And I've heard article fox can run, particularly if you have oily skin. I've only tried this color from this brand, but I'm already hooked. And it smells like grape. My hair wasn't white when I applied it, it had a light brass to it, but I figured the purple color was going to neutralize it anyway and it did. Here's some tips on getting your semi-permanent color to stay longer (I am not a professional, but if you are like me and can't afford one, here ya go): Be honest with yourself: how damaged is your hair? Go on some hairstyling forums and research. ALWAYS use a protein pack/hair mask after bleaching. Get some Palmers shit, they're like $2 at walmart. Leave it on your hair over night, and you will feel like a new person in the morning. Once you bleach/protein pack your hair, wash your hair the next morning (yeah I usually dedicate a weekend to doing this) and DONT condition it. The conditioner is going to create a layer over your hair so the dye isn't going to set as well. Then once your hair completely dries, put the dye on, and then cover it with a hair cap. I usually leave this on for a minimum two hours, but I've left it on over night before without any issues. One container of this covered my head, and I still had a quarter left over. My hair touches my shoulders, and its not thick. Anyway, I hope this wasn't too long; I'm just tired of reading bad reviews and I really like this brand. Good luck!

My hair is blonde. You can barely see the purple. It did leave it soft

I decided to give this brand an opportunity. The color faded away in a couple of washes and it’s not a nice fade. Won’t buy again nor recommend it.

I finally found something dark for my roots and to help me dull a bit some of the vivids. I did leave it for 2 hrs. It’s beautiful. I just don’t like bright colors but love how these feel for work and no other permanent color can match it.

I saw a review of the Smokey Purple better being used for a shadow root and that was exactly what I was looking for. For context: I have two-toned hair with blonde panels in the front and underneath, and a grown out balayage on the darker panels with my natural dark brown growing out, so a lot going on in terms of levels of bleach and color in my hair. My stylist put a peachy rose gold on my hair after my last root touch up on the blonde panels which faded quickly into a brassy color I couldn’t tone out with any shampoo or conditioner, plus I had washed out pink on the ends so it was making the brassy roots look even brassier in comparison. So I was looking for a muted purple to put on my roots to help with that and this did the trick! I put it on my blonde panel roots and my dark panel balayage ends. When I washed out the root shadow worked and actually toned my blonde panels to a dark smokey silver with a touch of lavender as well, which looks kinda cool so I’m into it. The darker ends just got cooled down a little and darkened, which also looks cool and adds to the dimension. Taking off a star because I wish it was just a tad more pigmented. It has more vibes of a strong toner than a pigmented color, and would be perfect for creating a dark silvery look if you’re trying for that.

ドライヘアに塗布➕ラップし２時間位放置すれば白髪も染まる。色抜けの色味の違いも楽しめる。次の美容室でも脱色に差し支えないのが一番良い。いつも扱っていて欲しい。

The color was much darker than the photo, turned my hair basically back to a brown, looked like I didn't even dye it

Colour is hard to get out of your hair and porcelaine!!

Waste of money. Didn't even cover up the old colour or grey hair.
