Not quiet -- it's silent!
Pre-washed all the pieces before assembling -- unit is easy to put together. Comes with a tiny brush to help with routine maintenance cleaning that is recommended bi-weekly. Filters are easy to install but should be pre-soaked to reduce tainting the water. Our cat was initially put off. (I would recommend cycling water for 2-4 hours, then rinsing the filters and fountain again to clear any lingering "flavor".) The 2-piece configuration with power and inductive pump motor is a great configuration. You can remove and refill or service the upper water container and not worry about having the electrical portion exposed to water: i.e. the water basin sits on the power/electromagnet base and can be removed separately. The inductive pump motor sits in the water basin and pushes water up the outflow spout above to serve your cat. The sub-pieces of the water basin and pump can be removed and separated for cleaning then reassembled. The unit is silent -- not just quiet as compared to our previous cat fountain. Even the outflow from the spigot falls so quietly that it seemed to unnerve our cat. It took several days for him to get used to using it (which included the use of treats to get him close to the unit). Because the proximity switch makes him jumpy as it starts when he gets close, we've opted for continuous running -- continuous flow only occurs if the unit stays plugged in. The unit is smaller than expected for 2.5L but works well for our single cat household. The base will alert you with lights when it needs to be recharged (if running on battery) or if water level is low. Very nice unit and highly recommended

Whisper-Quiet Fountain with a Large Tank—Even My Skeptical Cat Came Around
I love this fountain! I originally purchased it because I already have a corded fountain downstairs, but I wanted a cordless option for my kitchen. The motion-activated feature really appealed to me because the water doesn't run continuously—it only activates when it detects activity, which keeps the water fresh. The biggest challenge wasn't the fountain, it was my cat. She's very sensitive to anything new, and when I first set this up, she wanted absolutely nothing to do with it. The fountain is motion-activated, so when she cautiously approached it for the first time, the sensor detected her and the water suddenly started flowing. That was enough to send her backing away in a hurry! She looked at me as if she was saying, "Did you see that?!" From that moment on, she treated the fountain with extreme suspicion and wanted nothing to do with it. For more than a week, I left the fountain out alongside her regular water dish. She would go out of her way to avoid the fountain, taking a wide path around it just to reach her old bowl. At that point, I was convinced it wasn't going to work. I decided to move the fountain to a location where I could keep it plugged in so it would run continuously. Even then, she avoided it for several more days. Then, on the very day I was considering returning it, she finally approached it and took a long drink. I was thrilled! That was the breakthrough we needed. Since then, she's been using it every day. I'm gradually moving it toward the location where I'd prefer to use it in cordless mode, and I'm hopeful she'll eventually become comfortable with the motion-activated feature as well. Baby steps! As for the fountain itself, I'm extremely impressed with the quality. The water reservoir is generously sized, which means less frequent refilling, and the design looks like it will be very easy to clean. I haven't needed to do a full cleaning yet, but I appreciate that it comes with a small brush for reaching all the little corners and crevices. What stands out most, however, is how incredibly quiet it is. In fact, I can't hear it at all unless I'm standing right next to it. Even then, what I'm hearing is just the sound of the water flowing, not the pump. If you're looking for a well-made, nearly silent fountain with the flexibility of cordless operation, I highly recommend this one. Even if your cat is a little suspicious of new technology, don't give up too quickly—mine eventually decided it was worth the risk!

Five Stars for the 5-Minute Cleaning Process & Silent Operation
EASE OF CLEANING: A Game Changer This is by far the easiest pet fountain I’ve ever used. The difference-maker is the cordless pump. I no longer have to lie on the kitchen floor or contort myself to reach an awkward wall outlet behind shelves. I simply lift the bowl, carry it to the sink, and start cleaning. The entire process—from picking it up to scrubbing, rinsing all the pieces (including the pump), and reassembly—takes less than five minutes (I'm know this because you are supposed to soak the new filter for five minutes, and I’m always done before the timer on the soaking goes off.) With two cats, I used to clean it every two weeks; now, with two cats and two smallish dogs, I clean it weekly. SUPER QUIET: Nearly Silent I would actually call it silent. I never hear it running unless the water level is getting low, at which point a gentle motor sound reminds me to refill it. VERSATILE POWER OPTIONS: Battery or Wall Plug I personally plug this unit in to keep the water running full time. The great part is that if I wanted to place it somewhere away from an outlet, I have the option to run it on a rechargeable battery. INCREASED WATER INTAKE: A Hit with My Pets My elderly cat is fascinated with the flowing water, which has noticeably increased her water intake. She especially loves it if I pop an ice cube or two into the tray! AESTHETIC APPEAL: Not "Butt-Ugly" The design is clean, modern, and fits well in my kitchen decor. ________________________________________ Suggestion for the Manufacturer A Minor Improvement for the Next Version: My one suggestion for PETLIBRO is to add a clear viewing window or level indicator bar to the front of the unit to make it easier to see the water level at a glance. As mentioned, the unit makes a slight motor hum when the water is getting low, but I'd prefer to refill it before it reaches that point.

Decent product
So, first, my 4 star rating is due to my two 1 year old cats destroying it and turning it into a play thing. It simply isnt big enough for them, and they move it and dump it over, spilling the water everywhere. It is quite, I can not hear it working at all, it is very nice and easy to clean and refill. I used the battery function a few times, but my cats where not please that they couldn't get more water, they are greedy. The battery option worked fine, turned off until the cats came around, however, if they sat there too long, it would turn off, and then cat mayhem, This puts out a decent supply of water and there is plenty of it for a happy, un-terroristic cat.

Good replacement
Works as advertised. Same part as one that comes with the original fountain. Needed to replace the motor after 2 years. Noticed that the flow was weak even after replacing filters but once we replaced the motor/pump the flow went back to being strong. A bit pricey for what I think it is but it’s not something you buy very often.

Super Easy to Clean!
This is, by far, the best cat water fountain I’ve ever owned, and I’ve owned at least 6 different fountains over the past 10 years. It is extremely easy to set up, easy to fill, and easy to add water. It’s also very quiet and was the first water fountain that did not scare my black scaredy cat who’s afraid of her own shadow. It’s also ridiculously easy to clean! It took me less than 5 minutes to disassemble and clean the well, pump, and stainless steel water tray. I was done before the new water filter was done soaking in water (the manufacturer recommends soaking the filter in water for 5 minutes, followed by rinsing for 30 seconds). The manufacturer recommends completely cleaning the entire fountain and pump every two weeks. This will be an easy schedule to stick to because of the ease of cleaning the entire unit. In the past, I dreaded cleaning our water fountains because they weren’t easy to clean. This fountain was designed to have no 90° walls or corners that are hard to clean and get any and all gunk out of. The pump comes apart completely and easily for easy and convenient cleaning. Everything goes back together quickly and is ready for the new filter in a snap. The manufacturer claims that you should only have to fill the fountain once every two weeks, but we have three very thirsty cats, so I refill it every couple of days. It would probably last the two weeks if it was used by only one cat. The base has a battery strength indicator, which is helpful if you keep the fountain in a spot that doesn’t have access to an electrical outlet. Otherwise, it simply indicates that the power is on and the battery is fully charged. There is also an indicator that lights up if the fountain needs more water added. If you’re on the fence on whether or not to buy this pump, know that it’s truly worth every penny. The ease of cleaning the entire fountain is enough for me to buy this one again and again (we all know that fountains don’t last forever)… but this one may just be the one that does last forever.

Great for water purposes. Don't put milk in it.
The best fountain you will ever own. I'm still using it and I think I purchased it like 4 years ago. Well worth the money. There's been a few hiccups with it resetting after the water runs out and you refill. But this thing is so quiet you could put it next to your pillow while you sleep and not be disturbed in the slightest. I'm a stickler for noise and I've had zero complaints. You and your iguana will love it.

Good But Not Great
(Updated: 10/1/2024): After using this cat fountain for about a week, I decided to keep the fountain. I have it on standard mode. That is, plugged in an running constantly. After a week, there was a little bit of cat hair and litter specks but not too bad. I think since I have the water flowing constantly, this makes it less likely the cats would put their paws in the water to sense where is the water surface. (Original review follows): ---------------------------- The pump on my current cat fountain died after about 4 years. Rather than getting a new pump, I decided to get a new fountain. I've had an interest in the Petlibro Dockstream fountain since it was first introduced since it looks like a premium cat function that is both functional and attractive. A major selling point of this fountain is it has some "smarts." In particular, it can operate in battery mode where the fountain puts out water for about 17 seconds when it senses movement nearby and it can also function like a common cat fountain that it plugged into a power source. Upon opening the box, the first thing I noticed is the fountain is made of much more plastic than I thought. I had thought that the fountain was mostly made of steel but instead the only thing that is not plastic is the steel drinking tray. Putting together is easy. The bottom tray serves the function of the battery and also connects to a USB-C cable (included) for power. Inside is the pump and rubber stalk that connects to the fountain spout. The plastic water holder bowl is marked with min and max indicators for water levels. This fountain checks some of the boxes that makes this a good cat fountain, but there are some misses that prevents it from being great. Here is what I feel are the pros and cons of this fountain: PROS: ------- 1) USB-C cable powered option. By using a common USB-C cable, should the cable need replacing, that's and easy thing to do as opposed to having to buy a adapter-cable setup specially for a fountain. Even more important, by being USB-C powered via cable, one can get a metal braided USB-C cable if your cats (like mine) tend to chew up unprotected cables. I went the metal braided USB-C cable route buying one for about $8 on Amazon. 2) easy to set up and take apart for cleaning 3) filters are readily available CONS: ------- 1) water flow (both corded and battery modes) are pretty much ineffective in routing and debris like cat hair or cat litter from paws that dip into tray toward the open slops that lead to the filter. Instead cat hair floats on the water and cat litter specks just settle on the tray. (include photos show some cat hair and litter specs that don't get circulated into the filter) 2) included USB-C cord is not protected from cat chewing. I had to buy an additional cord to resolve this issue 3) the battery operated sensor doesn't always work. I've seen where a cat goes by and doesn't trigger the fountain to circulate water 4) water level indicator is not a simple glance of the bowl but instead is done electronically by an indicator on base if water becomes low. I think it is better if the bowl had a little transparent area to look and see the level 5) filters are a bit on the expensive side If you are looking for the perfect cat fountain, this is not it. But if you don't mind a fountain with the short comings I've mentioned, then you may be happy with this fountain. I give the PETLIBRO Dockstream Cat Water Fountain 3 out of 5 stars.

Good filters
Got these on an offer and the perlibro is defo the better fountain where mold and gunk build up is concerned, as you dont really get it. Occasionally a bit of pink mold very minute and easy to clean. Unlike the cheaper fountains

Buen producto
Funciona muy bien para nuestras 3 gatas, se limpia fácilmente y aunque los filtros son caros, uno aguanta muy bien unas dos semanas de uso continuo siempre que no le caiga algún contaminante al agua.

Great cordless water fountain with one flaw
Love that the pump is cordless as cords in water fountains tend to get slimy easily. Very quiet especially when it's on the bubbling mode. One minus point is the filter cover is very hard to remove. Had to pull it open with quite a bit of force and I was afraid of breaking it! Petlibto should look into improving the design of the filter cover
