While the pass-thru ratchet is not as tight and smooth as the one in my Schwaben kit, it works just fine for loosening and tightening struts while they are on my Branick 7600 strut machine. It allowed for easy removal of the strut nut on the old OE Nissan strut cartridge, and easy installation of the new KYB 341279 strut cartridge. This kit has everything most people need for working on foreign and domestic struts, at a decent price just under $100. I never use impact tools when working on struts, so I can't comment on how well it would hold up under impact usage (which I am pretty sure it is not designed for).
