How accurate is this & is there a way to adjust to the readings I get from the equipment in my Drs office? My current home unit is greatly inaccurate.

I was greatly disappointed in this product. I check my blood pressure multiple times a day. This Garmin unit has always given my high readings. I see a doctor once a week and the numbers I get from my doctor are in the normal range. My at home unit I was using before the Garmin device was right in line with my doctors readings. I have quit using my Garmin device all together as I do not trust the readings. I hope this helps.

Can you use nimh rechargeable aaa batteries in this?

nimh batteries will probably work but will have a shorter battery life than non non-rechargeable Alkaline

Can device be used as a stand alone without readings needing the app?

Yes it can be used with our Mobile App, However it won't save the previous readings data with out app.
