## Description

The Watts Premier Booster Pump Kit is expertly designed to enhance the efficiency and flow of water, particularly in areas with low water pressure, typically below 40 psi. This comprehensive package includes everything required for a straightforward installation, ensuring that you can quickly and easily boost the performance of your reverse osmosis water filtration system. The kit comes complete with a high-quality booster pump, a 110V transformer, all the necessary fittings, green tubing, and a tank pressure shutoff switch that senses the pressure in the output line and automatically adjusts the pump's operation based on the tank pressure. This feature ensures optimal performance and consistent water flow, providing a steady supply of filtered water even in low-pressure conditions. The main feature of this kit is its ability to significantly increase water output. This results in faster tank fill times and more efficient filtration processes. Despite its powerful performance, the booster pump operates quietly even when in use, ensuring a hassle-free experience without any disruptive noise. The versatility of this booster pump kit is another major advantage. It is compatible with all standard and manifold units, allowing it to be seamlessly integrated into any existing RO filtration system. This means that regardless of the specific model or brand of your RO system, this booster pump kit can enhance its performance, ensuring that you always have access to high-quality, filtered water.

Review: The pump you never knew you needed... - I realize not everyone out there owns an RO (reverse osmosis) system and perhaps even fewer have one connected to their refrigerator. But if you do, you may want to consider this... We've owned an RO system since 1994, in fact we still have it. During that time we connected it to our old Maytag refrigerator's ice maker and water dispenser. Neither worked reliably or well. When the ice maker wasn't literally shooting ice cubes horizontally out the cup, it would continually freeze and malfunction (as ice makers do). Due to abnormally high frequency of repairs the only redeeming value we derived from the parade of service technicians was the opportunity to pick their brains. Time after time, each confirmed why the door mounted water dispenser was so agonizingly slow delivering water. It was primarily due to the reduced pressure from the RO system. Since the storage tank bladder and pressure were operating within spec this made sense. While having an RO system does provide a cleaner (no minerals) source of water, the downside is low water pressure plays havoc with ice-makers creating "ice dams" that block the H2O feeder tube. The internal ice-maker switch depends on a minimum amount of water pressure to engage. RO system pressure is typically around 7 PSI which dramatically less than city water pressure (about 30-60 PSI depending where you live). Inevitably the refrigerator water line (necessary for ice making) will freeze-up disabling the ice-maker and significantly reduce flow through the door H2O dispenser. Just about every refrigerator manufacturer recognizes this issue and addresses it within their respective owners manual. Our new Samsung is no exception. In fact, after contacting them and they highly recommend installing a water booster pump specifically for the reasons mentioned above. So after doing some research I found this Premier model on desertcart (coincidentally from the same manufacturer of our RO system) and ordered it for less than Premier's own website price. Since I installed it the same time we received our new Samsung I can't definitively state any measurable improvement. But compared with the previous Maytag, water flow is noticeably faster and dispensing pressure is higher (based on observation with pump turned on and off). I realize it may be too soon to report (almost 2 months) but best of all we haven't experienced any ice issues. While I can't unequivocally state this pump is making all the difference, I do feel confident it is helping prevent any recurrence of similar ice-maker issues... so far, so good. If you've ever replaced your RO system filters, have experience with basic tools (semi-skilled with home repairs) you can easily install this. If not, it shouldn't cost much to have someone do it, I was able to install ours in about 20 minutes. After depressurizing the RO system (same as during a filter change); mount the pump vertically to any wall (under the sink); splice one RO water line; re-pressurize the system; plug the pump into a standard 120VAC outlet (typically available under most sinks for dishwashers and disposals) and your good to go. As for the pump, it operates automatically (on-demand) and is exceptionally quiet, we never notice it working...
Review: A++++ - Arrived a couple of days late but sure does work nice. My portable 5 stage R.O. system is still on the original filters after 1 year and was slowing down considerably but when I added this it went from 3+ hours per 18L jug to just over an hour. The TDS count is high here (940) and slows R.O. systems down but with this pump its a 300% better. Cuts down on the amount of rejected water too. Nice and quiet. USA made is always a plus. Now I can run jugs off for the neighbours.

## Features

- BOOSTER PUMP KIT: The Watts Premier Booster Pump Kit is designed to increase the efficiency and flow of water in areas, especially in low-water pressure applications with water pressure lower than 40 psi. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this hook up before or after the RO unit?**
A: It hooks up BEFORE the RO to provide extra boost to the system's pressure. I have a well and was lucky if my water pressure was 35psi. This is not enough for a RO to work properly and be able to supply at least 4-5 gallons an hour. With the watts Premier I get close to 55 psi and with a 100 gallon per day RO membrane ( don't bother with a 50 gal or 75 gal slower and not much difference money-wise ) I can fill a 5 gallon water bottle I about 75 minutes. I go thru about 15 -18 gallons a week with household and my Saltwater reef aquarium as far as water use. Great pump, American made, tough. I run it with just the water in the housing after forgetting to turn on the water on day, and there was no damage. I'm not saying to try to do this but just shows the quality of this USA made pump. So that's my short ( laugh ) answer to your question . It goes BEFORE the RO to feed water into the system under higher pressure. Hook you water supply to the pump first and then the output from the pump to the first stage of you RO system.

**Q: I dont have a filtration system. I just want to raise the water from my lower level water tank to my upper level ice maker . Does this work for me
the pressure from my water tank is extermly low.
(the height of tank from the ground is not more tham 30 cm)**
A: How do you know you water tank pressure is extremely low, have you checked it? Has a problem suddenly developed where previously there wasn't any?The storage tank uses a "Schrader" valve same as a car or bicycle tire. If I'm not mistaken most RO storage tanks should be maintained at about 7psi (check your tank label or instructions), if not the bladder inside the tank may be leaking or ruptured. Find a bicycle hand pump and a reliable air gauge. Remove all the water from the tank and check the pressure. If it's low pump it up to 7psi and refill with water. See if this doesn't help first since the pressure pump will help with the ice maker but not if the tank is incapable of maintaining the air pressure. Once you've established that it is not a storage tank problem, then I would verify if the ice maker is functioning properly. Depending on how old it is, it could be malfunctioning or possibly the water line is frozen, I've had this occur before. After you've satisfied yourself that everything is working correctly, then I would look at purchasing the pressure pump. Good luck and hope this helps...

**Q: this items is no good i can return it**
A: I would think you could but I love the product

**Q: I don't have a RO filter, I have an under-the-sink Filtrete filter. Can I use this pump to give me more pressure?**
A: You don't indicate what type of pump this is. Centrifugal etc. Any pump will raise your line pressure by whatever it's design boost is for flow. Bear in mind all pumps have a maximum operating pressure that comes into play when suction is other than a negative value. Most undersink units are diaphram pumps that should be suitable. It all depends on what the pump is capable of flow wise compared to flow through the membrane.
