As my review title states, I'm obsessed with this stuff! Brad Mondo killed everything about this product. I purchased the Slate Grey, and have officially found my holy grail silver/grey hair coloring product. I used to use a different popular brand that makes similar hair coloring masks, and costs more. I can't see myself ever using another brand of hair coloring masks after using this one. My hair: I have my partner help me bleach my roots at home from a dark blond/light brown color, so we're not pro's here. My roots get pretty white, but some spots can still be a little yellow sometimes. I also have fine strands, but a lot of hair. So that's the base for what I used this product on. Ease of use: The product goes on easily, spreads easily, and is not messy whatsoever. Value: With other brands I've used, I've used a whole bottle (of the same size) on just my roots and midlengths. With this product I only used maybe 1/4th of the bottle on my roots and midlengths. So this bottle will last me for multiple uses. Scent: The product itself smells very pleasant, and wasn't overwhelming or irritating to my already sensitized scalp from bleaching previously. Color: It's such a beautiful neutral tone, with more of a purple undertone. The purple undertone was so important to me, because other silver/grey dyes I've used have more of a green or blue undertone to it. And when a dye like that begins to fade, especially if there are already yellow tones in the hair, it looks very unpleasant. This product, with its purple undertones, actually seemed to tone my hair while dying it. Fade: I've washed my hair about five times now and it's fading beautifully. Its remaining toned, and the color itself is holding up better than I thought. I do use anti-fading shampoos and conditioners though, so keep that in mind. Hydration: Brad Mondos hair coloring products have bond builders and all sorts of great stuff I them. And this was clear to me after I washed the product out and dried my hair. My hair was in MUCH better shape than it started out in, especially after bleaching. It was shiny, strong, hydrated but not oily, and just beautiful. It was everything I needed and wanted from a semi-permanent dye, and I clearly highly recommend it!

I have waist length hair and went gray with white streaks half of head of hair ago (years?). I hate the line of demarcation between my dark brown hair and my gray hair. Pony tails look fake, even though it's my real hair! I spent $450 to get my hair bleached and toned gray. Something like baby lights? Anyway, I loved it. My hair was varying shades of gray intermixed with white and dark brown. All blended in and lovely. If I'm going to hace gray hair, it's going to be on my terms! Once the toner wore off, the dark brown half was now a lighter brown with streaks of blond. That left me 4 colors of hair and still the demarcation. I tried toners, but they wore off in a couple of shampoos. I didn't want to spend $450 every 6 weeks nor keep applying toner that washed out so quickly. I saw this slate gray and decided to give it a shot. I waited to do this review until I'd used it a few times, to be sure. I've used this product 4 times and can safely say I love this product. Seriously. My hair looks like I just spent the $450 on my hair. My hair is glossy and soft (if you have gray hair, you know this is insanely amazing on its own), the gray colors all blend beautifully, and no more frizz. It's way faster than completely dying my hair because it's thick (I scoop it out with gloved hands) and goes on clean, dry hair. I have no splashes on my walls and the few splashes I get on my sink wipe up easily with no stain. The color lasts 9-10 washes for me (I only wash my hair every 3 days, so that's a looooong time) and the color fades gradually - no weird colors while it's washing out, either. The *only* ways they could improve this product are to provide gloves and magically have it never wash out. I bought a box of gloves, so...I'll just keep using this.

Easily 5/5 product from the in person store. I’m not sure if the heat or humidity where I live had an effect but the first one I bought wasn’t very pigmented and really patchy for some reason. Wanted to try again because I love the color. Picked it up in stores at sally beauty and WOW. So pigmented. So beautiful! Love it. A 5/5 product off the shelves. Shipped from my experience was not the same.

I recently had my hair lightened and didn’t love how it turned out on me. I decided to look for some semi perm colors to play with before going back darker. I read a ton of reviews before deciding to purchase the slate grey color. This product is not at all what I was expecting. I read so many reviews that said this product was easy to apply and left their hair feeling moisturized. It was NOT easy to apply. At all. Maybe it’s because my hair is so thick, but I felt like I was applying literal glue to my hair. Forget the directions that say, “comb the product through hair.” LOL. There was no combing whatsoever. Not even with my fingers. I sectioned my hair out and covered pieces in small sections. It took almost the entire can, which was disappointing. I left the product on for about 40 mins because I was hoping for a deep, deep slate color. When rinsing my hair, I noticed my hair was sooooo incredibly tangled and dry feeling. To the point that even after conditioning it was still terrible and I thought that my hair was damaged by the product. I freaked out and applied every sort of conditioning product I had on hand. Eventually after about 6 applications of various products and letting my hair air dry, it started to feel less straw like and more normal. Overall, I’m pleased with how the color turned out, but I’m not sure I’d purchase this product again. The first photo is my hair after washing and blow drying. The second is the day after I applied the slate grey color.

wow. i've been searching for the perfect gray hair dye, and LET ME TELL YOU. brad mondo has got it down to a T. unlike other competitor brands, this has a very strong purple undertone to cancel out yellows. it fades to a nice light gray and lasted me quite a few washes. the formula was soft, creamy, and easy to apply. it didn't stain my tub or skin at all (might be a different story for some melanin-challenged folks). i've tried so many other brands, and by far this one wins. i really liked manic panic's dark star but they only sell in small bottles and it's way more expensive. even manic panic faded to a greenish gray, but not brad mondo! and i SWEAR my hair was in better condition (more hydrated, softer, curlier) than before. if you're looking for a darker gray that fades nicely, smells good, lasts a while, tones out yellows, and leaves your hair in better condition than before, THIS IS IT!!! what more can you ask for honestly?? p.s. i included pics of the hair post dye, after a few washes, and how light i bleached it beforehand.
